If you're looking for something a little bit different then I can't think of anything which comes close to Django's. I was attending a wedding so didn't get chance to properly explore the eco village but will definitely be going back to rectify that. I booked a private room with a double bed and en-suite facilities - really happy with the price and amenities. The communal kitchen is a winner and the local "Centra" convenience store has a surprising selection of food/drink on offer (top tip - the Centra store offers cash back which is a life saver due to the lack of cash machines). Pa and Django (Django being the main man - or dog, technically) were very welcoming and this just made the whole stay a thoroughly enjoyable experience. If you get chance, go to the local pubs (yes,…

Great spot for a reunion with old friends (and new kids) - big spacious rooms, comfy beds, nothing to worry about breaking, big living room (in case it rains), space to cook for a small army… all located in a beautiful and interesting village.

The family room was excellent value for money, clean with all basic amenities. The kitchen and living area had everything you could need and great social spaces to lounge after a forest walk. Warm and friendly atmosphere and my kids loved it. We'll definitely be back.

We booked the entire Hostel to accommodate our family and friends (27 people) as we were attending a Family wedding in nearby Cloughjordan House. The Hostel is clean, bright and homely. The kitchen is well equipped and comfortable for chatting over breakfast/many cups of tea! The rooms are en suite and clean. Pa is an excellent Host, very calm yet very organised. There is a walkway to Cloughjordan House which means no driving or walking on roads in the dark but do bring a torch for coming back! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend Djangos.

The hostel describes itself as comfort with conscience and so it is.It was great to be part of the Eco village and hopefully see the future and know that it might work. We were probably a hostel's nightmare guests varying in age from 7 months to 70 years and one guest with a disability, but Pa took it all in his stride and we were all housed appropriately. The rooms are entirely adequate--clean, bright and ensuite. My own room could have benefitted from a reading light but I am sure it would have been produced if I had asked. The common areas are very good--a bright well equipped kitchen and lounging area with books. There was happy chatter in the kitchen. There is grocery shopping nearby, a restaurant in the village and of course there are a few pubs. The Eco village is set in…

Stayed at Djangos last weekend with my wife and two young kids in family room. What a fable of a weekend! Pa, the host with the most, was extremely kind with all and sundry. The hostel is very clean and cosy and warm. Kitchen space is excellent and great atmosphere with other guests. Village of Cloughjordan is laid back and has character and then there is the eco village - a bright, inspiring development in darkish times. Cloughjordan is on the train line and is only ten mins from the Limerick-Dublin motorway. Stay at Django's and leave ten foot tall. Magic!

I stayed here with a team doing a cycling race. the facilities were clean and fresh, kitchen facilities were good, and there was a good feeling about being eco-friendly! The ecovillage was a nice interesting lace to look around and there is a nice atmosphere about the place. I enjoyed my short stay here.

Stayed here with a group of students recently. Many had never stayed in a hostel before! Clean: All common area, the kitchen and bedrooms were really clean and well kept. Friendly: Pa is lovely and very welcoming. So are the other guests! Convenient: The hostel is in the EcoNeighbourhood but within walking distance of everywhere in Cloughjordan. The hostel is a 10 minute walk from the train station. The village of Cloughjordan and the EcoNeighbourhood are fascinating places. Within walking distance there's trails, lovely pubs, a cookery school, galleries and beautiful countryside. I would definitely stay here again, with a group or family.

We stayed here during the wonderful Cloughtoberfest, which is Ireland's new Gypsy Jazz festival. The hostel is named after Django Reinhardt. We found it to be a great hostel, it has a lovely big clean kitchen, spotless rooms and ensuite in the family rooms, Pa the host is a really good guy and it is altogether recommended by us!
