Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The main entrance to Cloughjordan's Ecovillage is right on the main street which is very convenient. That is surpassed, though, by the warmth of the welcome from both 'Pa' and Django himself. The rooms are always spotless and there is a comfortable common room as well as a well-equipped kitchen / dining area.

Our group of 5 stayed there for one night. We meant to visit the ecovillage and share in the atmosphere and spirit of the place. True, the building is environmentally friendly, the location is excellent, Pa (and Django, the dog!) were welcoming hosts. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. But we were really disappointed by some aspects. The village, we were told, has a resident baker producing organic bread, we saw everywhere fruit-trees and it is understood apples are available for picking freely, the stress is on local organic food. But for breakfast we had packed bread from the supermarket, margarine, and apples shipped from France - incredible... The comfort reminded us of the youth hostels we patronised when we were young, and no problem with that aspect. Maybe it was an

We very much welcome all positive and constructive observations and will always try to address any criticisms. Your review is balanced pointing to what is positive in our offering such as our environmental credentials, location, cleanliness standards and the welcome Django & I extend to all our guests. I'm very sorry that you found some disappointment. I agree that our self service breakfast is very basic. We clearly point out this fact in our reservation confirmation and we do have a fully equipped modern kitchen for guests to use for the preparation and storage of food. I agree that it seems incredible that you found apples from France included on the breakfast table - especially as we have so many free apples on site. So why would I buy in apples ? Well as I explained the apples were brought in by an earlier guest [who obviously was unaware of the local abundance]. If we can avoid it, we don't waste food or throw it out. However, I do think that it is a bit unfair that, given the high standards that you agree we have, you suggest that people might consider a local B&B in a visit to Cloughjordan. Our modern hostel is a very different offering to a B&B. We offer excellent value [private en suite rooms for €25/person/night compared to €45 in a B&B] and a very relaxed ambience for guests to cook, eat, converse and share stories in a way that is not as easygoing in B&Bs. Thank you very much for taking the trouble to review Django's guest feedback is very important to me.

My family stayed here for three nights in July to visit some new friends in the Ecovillage. The rooms were simple and comfy and the self catering kitchen had everything we needed to fix meals for our family. Everything in this little town is walkable and our kids quickly made friends in the neighborhood. We loved it so much we actually came back for another night at the end of our time in Ireland. Pa is a fantastic host and we look forward to returning in the future.

If found this hostel to be a high quality place to stay, this place is UP there. The dorms were spacious and the beds were comfy and the showers lovely. Nice ambient space at the reception to sit and read and relax and free Wifi that works. The owner 'Pa' is there in the background, very accommodating and polite man, but he keeps a low profile which gives a very relaxed atmosphere to the place. There simply is a very calming atmosphere to the environment and everything in the kitchen is of high quality standard. The Eco village and the different styles of housing are fascinating to walk around and the tour is very good and people get the opportunity to ask lots of questions. Each house in the eco village has a story behind it. I really loved the organic farm at the back

Attended Feeding Ourselves conference in Cloughjordan EcoVillage and booked myself a bed in Django's. I had a great night's sleep, social hang-out space in the lobby and got chatting to people, and perfect facilities for cooking up my breakfast (plus free bread and tea/coffee). I'll definitely be back.

A group of us stayed in the hostel for a college society trip. The hostel was clean and comfortable with lovely dorms and a well equipped kitchen, where one of out member, a chef, cooked us an amazing meal! Pa, the owner, was a great host and gave a very interesting tour for us in the morning as well as providing us with breakfast! We all learnt a lot about the Village and enjoyed the local town and Country. Everyone was talking about the super comfortable beds and quiet rooms! Overall it was amazing trip and we truly appreciate Pa running such a wonderful hostel.

The hostel was clean and homely, the owner really nice, the beds comfortabel and there are best facilities to discover the sorounding area like the ecovilllage and Cloughjordan, a cute, old village. We stayed in a youthgroup and it was perfect to work and relax.

Stayed two nights here. Lovely quiet room, clean, functional and quiet in the heart of the Eco Village in Co. Tipperary. Very welcoming open area as you come in, and comfortable seating area. Kitchen nice with a well stocked left-overs cupboard for disorganised people like me who arrive with nothing :)
