I stayed here recently for an event that was in the village. Located in the middle of the eco village, the hostel and the area around it are lovely and peaceful. From first contact at booking, Pa was accommodating and pleasant to deal with. He has a nice presence and was more than willing to give us some information about the local area, and the very interesting setup that the people of Cloughjordan have there. Any time I'm in this part of the country, I'll be staying here, and recommend you do the same!

This is the second time my organisation has taken a large group of people to Django's Hostel. I have also stayed here with friends on occasion. Our experience here was excellent, as always. Pa (and Django the dog) are wonderful, accommodating and helpful hosts. The hostel is modern, clean, comfortable and eco-friendly. We stayed in the hostel for 9 days. Pa was so welcoming from the first moment, the hostel felt like home straight away. Pa was available at any time of the day or night and responded to our needs with a smile at all times. He recommended an excellent catering company that served us delicious healthy meals 5 times per day. Pa, Johanna (the chef) and the catering team were simply amazing throughout our entire stay. I was at Django's hostel for a few days with my class and the staff was friendly, the place was nice and the kitchen and breakfast very good at any time. Would totally recommand to somebody who want to experience the eco village lifestyle!

great stay, nice big rooms, big kitchen area, cosy lounge, nice decoration, friendly hostel-keeper (Pa), all this for a really nice price - and in absolute tranquility. recommend also the pub in town!

Pro: One of the few hostels away from the coast Pa is very friendly Con: The dirtiest hostel I've seen in Ireland. Kitchen and specially the bathroom. I guess it makes it easier for the host, but why do nearly all the guests have to sleep in one room, when the hostel is nearly empty?

My trip to cloughjordan was to attend a wedding at cloughjordan house and location wise Django’s is a 5 minute walk away which was perfect for my young family it is also 30seconds walk from the main street which contained a beauticians and hairdressers which my wife visited before the wedding, a deli for warm rolls in the morning (alternatively there is a cafe) and a takeaway for night time as well as a local shop which is probably 1mins walk and 2 pubs at least. So location wise very central but hidden away in peace and tranquility. Travelling with my wife who is more used to 5* hotels than hostels, i must say she didn’t moan too much. The room was a great size bunk beds and a double bed unfortunately my daughter wouldn’t stay in her bed and required us to put up her travel…

Hi Robert, Please excuse my delay in getting to this response. My only excuse is that we had a very busy summer and I seemed to have missed your very kind review and rating. I'm very happy that we were able to assist you and your family in having such a pleasant and memorable stay in Cloughjordan. Thank you also for your wonderful descriptions of the local facilities in our town. I'm sorry about the alarming mid night visit by our friendly local feline. "Batman" is his name and he shows no fear entering our hostel at any opportunity much to Django's ire.

I stumbled across Django's while looking for lodging near Roscrea (hadn't even heard of Cloughjordan or the Ecovillage before!). I'm delighted that I did: it was a great experience. The hostel is clean, comfortable, and in a lovely location. You're not far from the train station and Cloughjordan center, but you're in the midst of an ecovillage and will certainly meet some of the residents. Everyone I met was friendly and welcoming. Pa himself is incredibly communicative and helpful. He helped me achieve my impossible tourist goal by connecting me with a bike rental in town (which ended up being the highlight of my time in Ireland). I hope to be back someday!

A nice and decent-value hostel beside Cloughjordan village. I stayed two nights and found it calm and quiet. The staff were very pleasant and the kitchen and sitting room were very comfortable and clean.

The main entrance to Cloughjordan's Ecovillage is right on the main street which is very convenient. That is surpassed, though, by the warmth of the welcome from both 'Pa' and Django himself. The rooms are always spotless and there is a comfortable common room as well as a well-equipped kitchen / dining area.
