Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A fascinating stay in Cloughjordan, Ireland's first ecovillage. Unfortunately just had time for a one-night stay. Loads to see. Had a drink in the 'old' town and a great walk around the ecovillage the following day. Would like to do a tour some time. Booked the family rooom in Django's - a perfect spot, highly recommend. Stayed in the family room which accomodated our two dogs. All rooms are now private and en-suite. A good breakfast of cereal and toast is included in the price, and charges are per room.

Stayed one night, on our 1st night exploring mid to west Ireland. Booked a couple of days in advance, paid there Has a good website. Quite a modern building, stairways similar to office/school buildings. Parking right at front. Big garden half with picnic benches and half a long grass nature garden. On entering the reception is a desk in a lounge area. We were a little early but Pa found us a room to check in right away, thus was very welcome as we had a 4. a.m start to the day. Our room on the 1st floor had a set of bunk beds and a double bed, both chunky blue metal and storage crates under them. A double wardrobe, bedside cabinets an a desk/dressing table with chair. 3 small windows and a juliet balcony in the bedroom and a big frosted window in the decent size en-suite bathroom with a fab shower. The bed was very comfortable with crisp white bedding. No towels in the bathroom, we didn't ask for any as we had our own. Breakfast was continental, servid in the dinning room that was off an open plan kitchen. Tea/coffee Fruit juices, cereals plus white and brown Irish bread, served with butter and preserves. Pa was a very friendly chap and we enjoyed our stay. Lose a point because the crates under the beds were a bit dusty but mainly cooking smells filled the whole building, even into the bedroom.

I really enjoyed my stay here at the Eco-Village Django hostel. It's basic as you'd expect from my hostel, but it's comfortable, clean and perfect for a short stay in Cloughjordan at a very reasonable price. It's also pretty easy to reach from Cloughjordan station (you can walk there!). I stayed for a wedding nearby and Django was the perfect location for it and provided everything I needed. A light breakfast is served in the morning and if you need any other amenities like snacks and toiletries, Centra convenience store is just a few minutes walk away. Django is looked after by Pa who is a lovely, lovely man. He'll take good care of you from the moment you walk in and I felt right at home All in all, its perfect if you're traveling solo and looking for a place to stay in Cloughjordan.

I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend several day's in Pa's hostel. It was wonderful and a great setting for the research I was doing. Pa was very welcoming and the stay featured a great breakfast along with a range of information available on the ecovillage and different activities available. I 100% recommend this hostel to anyone passing by Cloughjordan!

Django’s was a great place to stay as we travelled to Cloughjordan for a family wedding. On arrival Pa met us and made us at home. The rooms were clean and just what we needed. Location was perfect as it was right in town - close to the wedding venue and family. Not only were the rooms clean and individual washrooms there was a light breakfast every morning to start your day off.

Had the occasion to stay in Django's mid week and it was excellent. Pa welcomed us as did Django the dog. The Hostel is very clean, the bed extremely comfortable and the peace and quiet around the place was beautiful. People are very friendly . We had a gorgeous breakfast with sourdough bread from the Riot Rye Bakery which was superb. Pa looked after us very well and we would recommend staying here.

I stayed in Django’s for 9 nights and couldn’t have asked for a nicer stay. Pa was welcoming & approachable and had the place sparkling clean on arrival and throughout my whole stay. I felt comfortable & safe despite the strange times we’re in. It was clear how hard he works to keep the place running smoothly. Breakfast was simple but delicious, the coffee was lovely & the sourdough bread from riot rye bakery was amazing. The level of attention to detail for the price of my stay made it really great value. Would recommend it to anyone wanting a lovely break in cloughjordan! Bonus was getting to meet Django the dog for the odd belly scratch!

I had the great pleasure of spending a weekend at Django’s. The hostel itself was clean, good-value and comfortable. Pa was a courteous, humorous and attentive host. He was forthcoming with information and anecdotes about the eco-village and its various sustainability/environmental projects. Official tours of the village had not yet resumed post-covid, but we were lucky enough to be staying at the same time as a guest who knew the site well. Between her and Pa’s guidance I felt we were able to get a good sense of the project. It’s an interesting village to stroll through, guided or not, filled with allotments, orchards, and unique architecture. Django’s straddles the eco-village and original village of Cloughjordan (they are right next to each other), making it easy to pick up supplies. Though many businesses were closed because of Covid-19, there were still grocery stores, day-time cafes, and a takeaway restaurant, which was more than enough to meet our needs. I visited with an aunt whose mobility is limited and another who was traveling with a small dog. With notice, both were given suitable rooms. I was very happy with my room on the second floor, which was comfortable with a nice view. The room rates were very good value. Covid-19 guidelines such as social distancing and increased cleaning were being observed for the entirety of our stay. Pa seems committed to maintaining safe practices and is adapting his business as needed. Overall I was very happy with my two nights at Django’s and would recommend a visit! I look forward to checking out the sensory garden, woodland, and nearby bogland the next time I’m over, which I missed this time.

Really enjoyed the stay at Django's...very family friendly, casual and comfy. Felt just fine doing our self catering in the ample kitchen. Felt safe and secure, even with the wind blowing a gale outside (well, it is January! haha) Pa Finucane is a fine host. The people at Cloughjordan are so welcoming...the work they are doing (living in intentional community) is important.
