We visited La Tirimbina for their Chocolate Tour and were very pleasantly surprised by the location. A 250 mt hanging bridge takes you to the forest reserve and nature trails, one of which is used for the Chocolate Tour, which was educational, entertaining, and most importantly delicious. We didn't have time to experience anything else around the area, but we...

Nature is what drive to Costa rica, do not missed this place, great birding and nature walks, need to cross a hanging bridge over Sarapiqui`s river. The type of forest it is a lowland tropical rain forest, early walks are better than afternoon, more chances of seen wildlife mostly birds. Bat`s lecture are very informative.

I enjoyed my stay at Tirimbina Lodge. I was also grateful to have access to transportation to enjoy other activities and food in the area. The meal plan was expensive for lunch and dinner, but the quality did not match the price. The trails through the forest were excellent, and walking them alone was peaceful and rejuvenating. I highly recommend...

We stayed in one of the Lodge's deluxe rooms for three nights. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The room was reasonably spacious, clean and comfortable. It also had the benefit of a private terrace, though the privacy was somewhat invaded when a sloth was spotted at the top of a tree just outside the room....

This was a place we stayed at for one night as part of a 7 day adventure trip. The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. It may not have all the amenities of a Hilton but keep in mind that you are in the middle of a jungle. The surrounding area and grounds are beautiful. All the staff was...

Pretty basic room, appreciated the AC, only one chair, limited places to hang our sweaty, wet clothes. Dark in bathroom, forget shaving, showerhead mostly clogged by minerals, fell off in my hand when I tried to adjust. Staff very pleasant and helpful, especially Sergio. Food very limited - straight forward Costa Rican every meal. Having your own transportation to get...

Accommodations are simple, but very cosy. That's so nice when You travel with the group and stay "together like a family" - room next to each other. We all were very happy to see the "Blue-Jeans" frog (strawberry poison-dart frog) there. Incredible surrounding and possibility to see birds right outside our rooms and educated guides -- all these details made...

The Tirimbina Lodge does a great job exposing people to the rainforest and cultural traditions being preserved through the work of the non-profit that operates the lodge. The chocolate tour was truly excellent, both in terms of imparting knowledge, and because the chocolate itself was so darn good. While the tours are well worth the cost, just walking yourself across...

Tirimbina is a wonderful place to experience the rainforest. Great trails to walk , night hikes, birding tours, wonderful educational programs, peaceful and comfortable accommodations. The guides are passionate and extremely knowledgable. The food however is mediocre and pricey. Breakfast is included but lunch and dinner will cost $15 each. Take a cab just down the road to a local...
