Excellent helpful staff but over priced. The breakfast was really disappointing, the food ran out and when several guests asked for it to be replenished where informed that there was no chef cooking at present even though it was half way through the breakfast serving time!

stayed here for 1 night on the way from Rosslare to Donegal. Disappointing for the price, basically £140 for 2 people for one night. No extras, breakfast ok just. Seemed to cater for business travellers whose company's foot the bill. Poor value for money but clean and convenient.

Stayed here for a wedding for three nights. We had a room request which was taken on board which is great. Reception was nice and friendly. Asked for an ice bucket a couple of times as there is no fridge which was swiftly delivered to the room. Room was spacious and comfortable. The telly isn't your usual press the operate...

Just back from an amazing weekend at the Talbot and it was one of the best weekends away I've had in years. There is entertainment in the hotel on weekends and the food in the bar and restaurant are fab, which is great as it saves you having to go into Carlow town at night which is about 5 minutes...

I ate here once about 6-7 years ago and swore I would never go back, I am glad to say they seemed to have moved with the times and now offer a better selection of food. The bedrooms are just ok, I was there for 3 nights for the ploughing championships and couldn't get the tv to work at all....

I couldn't recommend the Talbot Carlow enough. Our team from DoneDeal stayed there for this week of the 2014 ploughing championships and the hotel staff really went above and beyond for us all week even under such busy circumstances. All the staff were fantastic, especially Robyn who served us dinner in the bar all 3 nights. She was so pleasant,...

I stayed for three nights second week of September. First room I got may have been empty for a bit - and furniture and carpets were damaged and it smelt. As I was travelling alone I felt uneasy about the room and when I explained this to staff they immediately changed my booking to a room on the same floor...
