Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here for two nights mid week. Bar nice and clean and good selection of drinks. Bar staff need more knowledge about drink measurements . Food was average. Ordered steak sandwich which arrived within 5 minutes. Food cold also. Menu bit pricey. Breakfast sorry to say is shocking. The hot breakfast buffet isn’t great. standard and quality lets it down. Food overcooked. Rooms nice bed comfortable Receptionist who checked us in very accommodating and friendly. A massive shout out to Patrick who we met in the leisure centre. An absolute gentleman. Very Friendly and couldn’t do enough. Nice hotel overall

We only stayed here one night as we were on the road the next day to Kilarney. The hotel was very clean, all the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a dinner here and breakfast the next morning. The food was plentiful and fresh. The rooms were all clean and comfortable.

I booked in online as I was in the area on business. I chose this hotel as it looked ok in photos but mostly as it had a leisure centre. I arrived at 5.45 and was informed the leisure centre would close at 6.30 which is a pity and should be stated when booking. The room was very dated and tired looking. I went down for something small to eat as I ate earlier. Restaurant was extremely quiet with staff standing talking. I ordered just a prawn starter. It arrived in 5 minutes which was not a great sign. Prawns were cold and rubbery in a greasy batter - absolutely disgusting and I let the waiter know I wasn’t impressed. I went to bed early but was woken at 3 am by drunken shouting and talking in the corridor and next room. Walls were paper thin. I could hear every word, grunt and bed creaking for the next 2 hours. Poor quality hotel all round.

We come here about once a month for dinner and lunch which is always a great experience. The food is lovely with a nice menu, however we have noticed an increase in price in food every time we go in on the same dishes we have always been getting, it seems excessive.

We had decided to pop into this hotel for some breakfast/lunch today with our 3 month old baby. We were told breakfast finished up at 10 so proceeded to take the lunch menu , the small menu we were handed by a member of staff was left with us for over 20 minutes. May I add the whole restaurant was empty and we were the only ones in it , now I can understand why it was empty. There was three staff one being a manager by the looks of it standing around setting a table. The manager had been speaking to a staff member and was extremely rude. We had sat there for over 20 minutes not one person even came near us to take order. At this stage we were extremely fed up and decided to leave , the staff couldn’t have cared any less that we got up and left. The customer service was appalling and also may I add the managers behaviour could certainly do with improving. Please train your staff the basic level of customer service! Will absolutely never be returning to this hotel !

Although the hotel is very tierd looking and old fashioned, the booking in was very efficient. Very friendly lady on reception. The food was excellent with first class service. Waiters were very friendly, polite and helpful. It was more than adequate for a quick one night stop over

We were here with friends on a coach holiday and only stayed one night. Querky hotel with a maze of floors leading to rooms which doesn't appear logical. Having said that, rooms were clean and comfortable. Evening meal was good along with hearty breakfast. All staff were friendly

We stayed four nights and overall we had a great break. Unfortunately, we cannot allocate more stars as a particular male receptionist was really rude to a number of people trying to book in and upset a number of people. We had also experienced his lack of customer service on a phone call earlier in the week. Perhaps a refresher course might be of help to him. Aside from this awful introductory experience, we enjoyed the break. Patrick the lovely Pool Man was really friendly and helpful - (note: please give a number of hours notice if you want to use the steam room + sauna. This wasn't mentioned in the room or at reception) Jacqueline and Jade were two of the really friendly, yet professional ladies who served breakfast, which was lovely thank you. Olivia and Linda kept our room spotless and also were very accommodating when we needed to stay in our room.

We were looking forward so much to this break as we have a girl who is Autistic and do not get away as a couple very often. After this "break" though I was glad to get home for a rest. On checking in we asked if we needed to book the leisure centre as some Hotels still do after Covid. We were delighted to be told that we didn't. I do not swim but my wife loves it and when our daughter is with us she needs almost constant minding so a lie down in the sauna or steam room was just what the Doctor ordered but the Surgery must have been closed- a bit like the Sauna and steam room were! We asked why and were told that due to the high energy costs that they do not turn them on unless asked in advance but If you are not informed that they are not on why would you ask in advance? Certainly not one I had heard of before. There was a tray of partially eaten food on a table in our corridor from the time we arrived until the time we checked out. Breakfast was terrible and we said it to the staff all of who just shrugged. On checking out spoke to a manager about poor breakfast, poor staff attitude and lack of leisure facilities. He mumbled something that could have been "sorry" but not sure. It looks like all the staff had mentally checked out long before we did

We had an enjoyable and rejuvenating one-night stay in the middle of the week. The staff at the hotel truly exceeded our expectations with their exceptional service. Their warm and welcoming nature, coupled with their remarkable helpfulness, made our experience all the more memorable. From the moment we arrived at the front desk to our dining experience at the restaurant, and even our time at the leisure center, every staff member went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. It's safe to say that we were thoroughly impressed. Without a doubt, we would stay at the Seven Oaks again in the future.
