stayed here for a couple of nights for a work trip location is good and free parking is available food was good in the restaurant and the bar has good choices breakfast was good too, The room was very warm and when I opened the window it was very noisy as it was just off the road. I was provided with a fan after asking a few times.
Having stayed here previously, we were looking forward to sampling the evening menu. We were very happy to see the clearly highlighted vegan options which excluded allergy numbers that may have dairy or egg. The options available currently are the Falafel Burger and the Sweet potato and chickpea curry, both of which are excellent and filling.
Returning for our first visit since Covid began, we cannot fault this hotel. From when we got to reception until we left, the service, food and professional was excellent. Our food was plentiful, plenty of friendly Staff and no delays. Carlow has lovely 'hidden gems' - Delta Sensory Gardens, The War Museum, nearly lovely village Leighlinbridge and the infamous 150tonne Brownshill Dolman, all within a short drive from the hotel. The leisure centre was clean and facilities great. We can't praise Management and Staff highly enough. We had four great nights here and look forward to our next visit. THANK YOU EVERYONE for making our first 'outing' after Covid so enjoyable. WE'LL BE BACK !!
Food was below standard. The oil used tastes awful. Beefburger tasted worse than your average fast food restaurant. We ordered Beefburger with chips, it lacked a salad and for a hotel overall poor performance. Lack of quality and accompaniments to a basic dish. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was tasteless badly presented and very little taste of Toffee.Waited 33 minutes fir the food , was compensated with a free drink ,thank you for that. The waitress told us the hotel awaits four new chefs, you could tell the food was not cooked or prepared by a proper chef. The standards here have dropped and the same horrible oil taste we encountered a few weeks ago. Not the same standard and quality of fod served two years ago.
Visited for a one night stop as part of a coach tour. Arrived late and went down almost immediately for evening meal. We waited and waited and waited before all orders were taken at the same time, Then waited again before starters arrived. Continued like this throughout meal. We arrived in dining room at 7.30pm and finished meal at almost 10pm. Far too slow. Shame as rooms and staff were all excellent.
I stayed here last weekend for my friends hen party, I paid extra money to have my own bedroom, the room and the bathroom was absolutely filthy, I was disgusted, the curtains were dirty, stains in the carpets, hand marks on the wooden headboard. The tiles on the floor in the bathroom were loose and cracked, the dirt behind the bathroom door was disgusting I have pictures, also the trim around the top of bath was loose. I will not be returning.
Overnighted in the Seven Oaks and was well pleased with everything. OK hotel is a bit dated but room was spot on, clean and comfortable. Had evening dinner which was excellent, staff were courteous and on their game. Breakfast was only OK, hot food was dry and tasteless. Would have no problem in staying again.
We spent 4 nights in the hotel and it was a great time. Lovely garden, good food, good starting point to have several day trips to the Wicklow mountains, Glendalough and beaches. Due to Covid, we spent a lot of time in the evenings in the room. The room was big and I loved the small table and chairs. Very comfy. There was not much staff in the hotel at that time but that did not bother us. They were still friendly and we got good service. I would go again
Attended a concert here with my partner. The bar had no draft beer except Heineken, I asked for Rockshore to be told no draft so I asked for a bottle only to be told no Bulmers is all we have. I asked if the main bar had Rockshore and got a gruff no. I settled for a red wine and a seven up and ginger ale. I had to ask for glasses. The toilets had the most dreadful sewerage smell so much so it was sickening. The lobby of the hotel is shabby. It's so disappointing to finally get out and about and get poor service. And then the hotel industry complains when we travel abroad for holidays.
I went here for my college ball, the food was the worst I’ve ever had in my life The veg was rock hard couldn’t get into it The chicken gave me the ick Would not recommend eating here The dessert was rotten aswell you’d need a shovel to get into it Rank!
