We had our wedding on the 22nd October 2022. First off the reason we choose this hotel was the value for money on their wedding packages. Our package was 39 per head which included arrival reception, champagne for bridal party, 3 course meal , evening food, 2x complimentary rooms , bridal suite, our room decorated with chair covers and candleabras. Menu tasting and 1st anniversary b and b etc.
The staff and managers were amazing to deal with, anything I asked they answered and sorted. Hotel prices rose all around the country but they kept their promise of leaving the bedrooms for our guests at the agreed price per room, which was amazing as we had a large number of guests staying.
Our dinner tasting night we were treated like royalty, our table was set to mimic what it would look like on the day and they even printed out our personalised menu. We were severes by the manager on the night.Anything we tweeked or changed on that night was done on the night of our wedding. They even sat with us after the tasting to discuss my details and vision of the day ie table plan, special diets , the little extra touches I planned etc.
To say we were blown away by our ballroom on the day of wedding would be an understatement. It looked like a 5 star hotel wedding so so beautiful, the food on the night was absolutely delicious and hot even though our photographers were holding up the show this did nit impact on the quality of food ans service. They never rushed us in the least . Our guest all raved about the dinner( not person had an issue except one guest who we knew would not enjoy our choice of menu, she was catered for flawlessly ), accommodation, price of drink and over all experience which included breakfast the next morning (omg it was the best fry I have eaten).
The only criticism that I had was by my two guests who were vegetarian , they both said that it happens in all restaurants and hotels which was vegetarian choices are alway small and sometimes boring and bland. They did not really enjoy their meal, but as I said this is not a reflection on the seven oaks as its a regular with all hotels.
So thank you to all at the seven oaks Michael, Shirley, Margaret and team for making this a magical day and night for us.
I would look no further if you are looking for a 5 star wedding at a reasonable price , people are calling and texting us saying it was the best wedding they have been too.

Nice swimming pool, nice interior of the already somewhat old hotel. Tiffany lamps were obviously heavy in fashion at the opening, they make the bar and restaurant quite comfortable. The restaurant fills up, so serves its purpose, but could not convince and so we felt the breakfast. The rooms were spacious, but the mattresses of the Spring Box beds should be renewed quietly. About 800 metres away is the Irishman, a nice little pub.

I went overnight with 3 friends, reception staff very nice and polite, the reception area was very big and very nicely decorated, very inviting. The outside could properly do with a power hose or a paint but thats just wear and tear. The bedroom was very clean if not a bit dated but it did the job. Plently of tea/coffee in the room. The hotel was not very busy at the time, bar very clean, bar staff friendly. It is very near centre of town, properly 8/10 min walk, ideal for us for our meal in Minosa's which was opposite Carlow college. Breakfast was 8-10 and had cereals and traditional Irish fry. Very good 3 star hotel, couldn't really fault it for that.

Old-fashioned hotel, you lose yourself in the long corridors and numerous stairs without windows to get to the rooms with carpet that emanates a smell of closed and dust.
I carried out a group tour: dinner on the first night poor, they redeemed themselves in the second; otherwise it went with breakfast, very little choice, the worst thing the canteen hours to respect as there were three groups of tourists and we were the second: while we finished breakfast they cleared and removed the plates from in front of us because after us there would be others. Friendly but distracted staff.

Food was below standard. The oil used tastes awful. Beefburger tasted worse than your average fast food restaurant. We ordered Beefburger with chips, it lacked a salad and for a hotel overall poor performance. Lack of quality and accompaniments to a basic dish. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was tasteless badly presented and very little taste of Toffee.Waited 33 minutes fir the food , was compensated with a free drink ,thank you for that. The waitress told us the hotel awaits four new chefs, you could tell the food was not cooked or prepared by a proper chef. The standards here have dropped and the same horrible oil taste we encountered a few weeks ago. Not the same standard and quality of fod served two years ago.

We stayed four nights and overall we had a great break. Unfortunately, we cannot allocate more stars as a particular male receptionist was really rude to a number of people trying to book in and upset a number of people. We had also experienced his lack of customer service on a phone call earlier in the week. Perhaps a refresher course might be of help to him.
Aside from this awful introductory experience, we enjoyed the break. Patrick the lovely Pool Man was really friendly and helpful - (note: please give a number of hours notice if you want to use the steam room + sauna. This wasn't mentioned in the room or at reception)
Jacqueline and Jade were two of the really friendly, yet professional ladies who served breakfast, which was lovely thank you. Olivia and Linda kept our room spotless and also were very accommodating when we needed to stay in our room.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights here while visiting family in the area. The room we had was spacious, comfortable and warm. The breakfast was filling and tasty-top marks to the chef and staff who catered for two vegans with ease and smiles! You can walk into Carlow and around the river, which is attractive. This is definitely a good option for staying in this area.

From start to finish I genuinely need to say it was the best experience we have ever had in a hotel.
All of your staff were amazingly attentive over the whole stay.
Our rooms were ready ahead of time (that never happens).
Even though the hotel had a large party of hurlers staying the numbers did not stop us from getting so much personal attention. The staff even apologized re the queues for breakfast but it did not bother us all.
We had lunch in the restaurant. It was fab, and the staff were fab we had 2 coeliacs and they were delighted to be able to have homemade soup with coeliac bread.
Our rooms were clean and beds fab.
THe leisure centre was so pleasant, clean, largest steam and sauna I have been in. Water dispenser, changing rooms immaculate.
Patrick the leisure centre manager is just so special, he was so attentive, apologizing over and over for the jacuzzi not working. He did not rush us when the hour was up and he went above and beyond his duties, he gave me so many tips on a running injury.
We had a drink in the bar also and the same applies, staff was lovely and it looked like they were giving out sandwiches to local customers which I thought was a lovely touch to keep locals involved in your hotel experience also. My friend was also delighted with the price of your drinks and food in comparison to Dublin prices.
After a walk around the town, there was a man harassing clients but the hotel were so proactive and called the garda to put everyone at ease.
Our second visit to the pool was lovely again.
Our breakfast was just fab and again your hotel was well aware of dietary requirements as 2 coeliacs in our party.
And finally upon leaving the staff were so attentive asking was everything ok and hope we enjoyed our stay.
Your staff and cleanliness were next to none.
We had the most pleasant stay and think your staff treats you as one of them which is a credit to the hotel.

Stayed in the Seven Oaks to attend my Grandson's christening just out of town.
First impressions were good, a traditional looking interior, panelling, paintings on the walls, comfy chairs and sofas aplenty. I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in!
Lovely welcome from the desk staff and up to the room we went. A bit of a trek and an odd layout to the lifts/landings/corridors but nothing unbearable. At this point I could see what other previous reviews had talked about the place needing a bit of refreshing, faded carpets and décor. But our room was just grand, roomy, comfy everything we needed was present and correct.
Breakfast was good, quality and quantity, and service excellent. I can say the same too for the bar snacks we had later.
Only minor grumble was the pool opening times, 10:00 to 18:00, could do with extending a couple of hours each end!
Overall an enjoyable stay, good food, nice room and really top staff. The staff, reception, restaurant, bar and leisure facility, really added to the enjoyment of our stay.
Bottom line is would we stay again? Yes, almost certainly we will!
