A sightly quirky Premier Inn, set well back from the A38 and approximately 25 minutes from Bristol Airport. Reception was professional and friendly, room was probably a bit smaller than a normal PI. This is a converted building rather than a new build, so with character but no lift. I would have struggled to get my 22kg suitcase up and even down the almost spiral stairs. Luckily my husband could lift it! The Brewers Fare restaurant attached has courteous, friendly staff, but the food wasn't good., and while we might stay there again, we will eat elsewhere. Similarly English breakfast was tasteless, and I would choose the continental next time as choice was good and fresh. Dont bother with the meal deal option for this reason. Most chicken items were unavailable. Staff were very friendly and trying hard, not a negative comment on them…
We always choose premier inn whenever possible for quick overnight stays where a good nights sleep is important. You always know what to expect; a nice room, a very comfy bed and a very clean and functional bathroom, with access to tasty, affordable food right next door 😁😁👍
Booked this as stop off between home in West Yorkshire and a break in Devon. Didn't realise until we arrived how close it was to the Cheddar Gorge and Glastonbury. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful.
I arrived at 8.45pm and in the dark. I immediately ordered a meal and a drink in the restaurant and then went to my room.A small but comfortable room, lovely and warm with a most comfortable bed. Absolutely no problems and I slept like a log. Breakfast the next morning at 7am and then off to complete my journey. Well done to the kind staff who helped me on my arrival and for breakfast. The last thing I will say is that the hotel is a bit of a Maze, but I found my way round .
I have always given Premier Inns 4 or 5* but this only just deserves 3. On the positive side the room was clean, the beds comfortable, excellent shower, friendly staff. However - on arrival the room was freezing and the heating system faulty, the helpful lady on reception brought a portable heater. The beds were icy under the duvet. Obviously the room had not been heated for some time. We were there for two nights and the drinks tray had only two sachets of coffee and two teabags. The restaurant, which is part of the hotel, not separate, was terrible. Supper had badly cooked food, served without advertised sauces. The gentleman at the table next to us had his starter and main course (hot) served at the same time. When he complained the waitress said "We always do this, our customers prefer it" !!!! Breakfast - first day they could not find an egg cup for my wife's egg, second day breakfast took 20 mins to arrive and was cold and overcooked. My vegetarian breakfast had two small bits of bacon under the eggs.…
I have made this account just to leave a review on this hotel & restaurant… to prepare others for the rollercoaster of attitudes you may receive! Firstly, I called before Christmas and spoke to someone very helpful and knowledgable on the telephone, this must have been the only reception staff who had any brain cells, I am sorry.. I wish I caught their name. However, when we arrived the young girl with yellow hair on the reception was no help for us. To be honest, I’m surprised she knew where she was! Myself and my wife had a couple of basics questions on which she struggled to answer. We tried to make conversation to make it less awkward but it turns out she wasn’t capable of that either… it was worse. We’ve had better conversations with our 3 year old grandson! She was happy enough to talk ‘gossip’ to a restaurant staff member who walked by before handing over our key though… not professional. PLEASE RETRAIN THIS GIRL. It was painful. On a brighter note, our room was spotlessly clean, crisp linen and lovely view. We must comment that the cleaners were very helpful and friendly. We are big tea drinkers and there is only two in the room. They were quick to hand us extra after we asked, which was very kind. They took the time to greet us in the hallway and even spoke to us about our stay and gave us ideas for day trips in the area. Truly a credit to the hotel. We have also reviewed the pub on the relevant page.…
Used to live in area so part of a revisit. Lovely staff. Set well back from main road. Great old building front. Fantastic car parking. Attached pub standard brewers fayre. Bed wasn’t quite up to usual standard.would definitely go back.

I am sitting in my room with time to kill for a 9am Breakfast. At 7.20am a hug delivery lorry parked outside my room no2. It stacked it delivery trolleys within inches of our window and a man in a yellow jacket commenced a long and very noisy delivery. Off to Bristol Airport for a days travel. We are both 75 yrs! Never again Premier Inn.
