Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We enjoyed a night's b and b at Barton Drove last weekend. Very welcoming, coffee cake and tea in the sitting room with the fire lit, after watching Wales thrash England ( yay!) at the local pub in Winscombe! Lovely property, full of charm and character. Breakfast the following morning was excellent, Sarah made it look effortless and provided a wonderful feast! very welcoming and fantastic views across the Mendips and over to Wales! Thanks for a lovely stay, would definately recommend the property to family and friends visiting the area.

After a long drive, my husband and I enjoyed a relaxing stay here with a delicious home cooked meal and breakfast the following morning. A cosy fire with coffee after dinner was just what we needed and reminded us of home. We were taken with Percy who insisted on joining us for dinner, he was very sweet! Thanks for a lovely stay!

In August I spent two nights with Sarah & Hugh, my second visit. This is a delightful B&B and they are charming hosts. My room was light and bright and overlooked a horse pasture. Contrary to what is often the case, Sarah provides a lovely living room/lounge for guests to use which is wonderful so I didn't have to spend my reading time hidden in my room. There are two dogs in residence and while I was there, also an adorable 4 year old granddaughter. The only negative thing is the dreadful rutted track leading up to the B&B but if you can manage that, it's well worth the effort. The price is very reasonable and Sarah is willing to provide an evening meal, by prior arrangement, as well as a fine breakfast. I'm already looking forward to my third visit, next summer.
