An exceptional friendly, family-run business. We stayed in the B&B Toblerina where you can also use the facilities of the hotel. Very nice views over Ascona and the lake. You can rent bikes and e-bikes for free and have a great day in nearby Valle Maggia or Locarno region...
This hotel is very clean , The staff are so friendly and helpful the views are amazing . The pool area is very good and the spa is lovely and relaxing. The view from the restaurant absolutely beautiful.
Went for the Ascona Jazz festival and knew nothing about this place. The first impression is that you are entering a botanical garden - the setting is just beautiful, overlooking the city of Ascona and Lago Maggiore. Have been traveling a lot, and the staff at this hotel is something exceptional. They all did that little extra. We felt welcome from the first minute, and will definitely be back. Stayed at the annex - Villa Tobler, which was adequate, but next time we will upgrade ourselves to the hotel. An extra plus for the lovely outside pool, the breakfast terrace with its stunning view, the breakfast itself...and that Sweden beat Switzerland in the world cup the day after we left.
The staff welcomed us really friendly and warmly. They were also helpful. The hotel has a great view on the lago maggiore. Also from the rooms. The rooms are clean, well equipped and decorated. The breakfast was varied and well presented.
Really enjoyed a most relaxing weekend at hotel Tobler- friendly staff , comfy rooms with stunning views over Ascona- great shuttle service into town- a small spa and good breakfast all contributed to a great weekend away - highly recommended
I spent 2 nights in this hotel. I would recommend room n°609, this bedroom has been renovated and has a fantastic view! not all the rooms are renovated, some of them are too vintage for me... The outdoor is really nice! Great pool and garden. I did not try the SPA but looked fine as well. I borrowed a bike to go to Monte Verita, it was cool to do a little ride. Breakfast is good. Restaurant has a nice terrace. I love this region but I would have loved to ear more italian than german/swiss-german... For more, follow my blog > mademoiselleb.ch
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights to attend the Moon and Stars festival nearby in Locarno. The hotel is nicely located on a hill overlooking Ascona and within walking distance to the Locarno bus. The suite was comfortable and very clean. Nice bathroom and seperate toilet. The staff very friendly. We were impressed with the lovely gardens and pool area. Really very nice! Breakfast buffet excellent but we were disappointed with the food served in the evening. We only ate there once (luckily) and my husband had to send his tuna back twice! So it's a shame really that the standard was so low as the restaurant's terrace is so lovely and the perfect place for a romantic last evening dinner.
The hotel is pretty good situated and has a great view over Ascona and the valley. We liked the outdoor pool as well the indoor pool. The garden is nicely maintained and has great fauna. The rooms are a bit old style 80ties and they could afford a re looking. We prefer newer furnished style hotels which is not yet really common to find in Ascona. The breakfast is ok but could be presented a bit in a more modern style (well it fits to the rest of the hotel design). If you like this style you will have a great stay. By the way the view from the breakfast terrace is amazing. If the management would invest in a fresh up and more modern design of the interior the hotel with his location and beautiful garden could be a really nice spot in the future.
We stayed heat with my nephew and family. Very friendly staff who were very helpful and child-friendly. Newly refurbished rooms with balconies overlooking the lake. We had a superior room. Excellent buffet breakfast. Nice pool area at rear of hotel with beautiful gardens. About ten minute walk from centre of town, though a bit steep on the way back!
My two children and I stayed at the Hotel Tobler from 9 August to 13 August 2014. The rooms were comfortable (although the showers in each of our rooms were quite small) and clean. The dining room has amazing views over the Lago Maggiore and Ascona, and breakfast was fresh and delicious. My kids particularly enjoyed the pool and the Roman bath. The staff were friendly and everyone spoke Italian, German and English.
