Excellent welcome by host (and owners Peter and Agnes) from station, + welcome beer while the options for walking for the week were carefully outlined and the ski lifts and buses explained. Best of all was every evening meal, master-minded by Nico (owners' son) - imaginative and delicious food from local ingredients (including own herb garden, available for inspection), the...

Our stay at the The Alfa Soleil hotel was absolutely amazing. Not only is the hotel situated in the most beautiful alpine village, overlooking a meadow and mountains, but everything about the hotel is great, from the excellent service of all the staff to amazing food everynight and really nice personal touches from Peter and Agnes, their family members and...

Superb hotel in an idyllic setting. Wonderful views of the snow-capped mountains from the balcony of our very comfortable twin room. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which made for a very convivial atmosphere. Nico's evening meals were amazing. He is a very talented chef using local produce and he pays great attention to detail. This was five...

Stayed for a couple of nights last week and was a great experience. The owners were very friendly and upgraded us to a suite on arrival due to a cancellation. They were very helpful and assisted us with planning what to see and do while we were there, provided lots of maps and public transport timetables. They even gave us...

We have just returned from a four night break and have absolutely no complaints. We were very lucky and upgraded as there was a large group staying, the rooms we had were spacious, clean and from the balcony offered a perfect view of the snow capped mountains. We were made very welcome and given great advice on what do, a...

The countryside is idyllic.the hosts are so helpful, and the food is very tasty, not pretentious and varied. nothing is too much trouble for the staff, and everyone seems to enjoy their role into making the guests feel at home. We would come back again and recommend this hotel to any of our friends.

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel which was most welcoming and relaxing. The buffet breakfast, offering a wide variety of cereals, yoghurts, breads, jams, cheese and cold meats plus excellent coffee, provided the ideal start for our 6 days of mountain walking. Peter could not have been more helpful with his thoughtful suggestions about suitable walks and the weather...

We stayed one night in early June. We were travelling by train and wanted a good hotel within walking distance of the station. The manager, once he realised we only had one night in town suggested we take the chairlift to the lake. Great idea. Walked the lake and back down in wonderful sunlight After a glass of wine on...

We stayed as part of a winter sports package. We were very comfortable and the small family team looked after us very well - including lifts to and from the railway station, local information, an especially early breakfast on one morning, negotiating lesson times with instructors. The evening meals were fabulous - imaginative menus, attractively presented and delicious to eat....
