Nice big rooms, great breakfast, wonderful and very helpful staff. Directly connected to the hot baths (inside and outside pools). Possible to park on private hotel spaces for a very good price. We will certainly come back!
Excellent choice in Pontresina. This hotel is beautiful, the rooms are well designed and spacious, the views are amazing and the staff provided customer service that is rarely still seen. Regina the manager runs this hotel like a well oiled machine paying attention to every detail. The breakfast was truly the best we had in our 2 weeks in Switzerland. Everything was super clean and well maintained. The icing on the cake was the use of the pools at the spa. Enjoying the infinity jet pool while soaking in the Mountain View’s was so relaxing after a day of hiking. Tamera at the front desk was welcoming and provided great resources for things to do in the area. Also they provided drop off and pick up at the train station even though we could easily walk as it was very close. Pontresina was a fabulous place to visit and we would certainly go back. Thank you for a great stay.…
It was our first visit to the area and upon check-in the staff and management went above and beyond to ensure that during our short two day stay we were able to optimize use of the local travel pass to see the highlights of the area. They provided maps, a local travel card, and instructions as to how to best find the most convenient train station (not the one we arrived at). The restaurant recommendations and reservations were also fantastic. Special call out to Regina (manager) Annalisa and Tamara (front desk) for answering all of our questions and ensuring that our stay was fantastic. Access to the spa and pool was an added bonus that was much appreciated after a hard day of hiking, climbing. What a wonderful place to stay!
I highly recommend that you do NOT book a room at this hotel. The customer service is terrible. I provided written notice on multiple platforms in advance of my scheduled stay that I needed to cancel my reservation for unforeseen circumstances related to Covid-19. Rather than working with me or showing even the slightest amount of grace, the general manager, Regina Amberger, responded with calloused, condescending lectures about how I need to be “responsible”—as if Covid interruptions indicate a lack of personal responsibility. To the contrary, choosing to change travel plans, unfortunate as it may be, is often the most responsible thing one can do in these times. But I am now left with a bill of nearly $700 in cancellation fees. Their policy, that cancellations must be made *28 days* in advance to avoid a penalty of the full amount, is plainly unreasonable, particularly in the environment of Covid-19. Medical interruptions to travel do not always surface one month away from a trip. The hotel knows this but chooses to enforce this policy entirely without discretion or concern for their guests. There are plenty of beautiful hotels in Pontresina—if you are interested in choosing one with even decent customer service, I encourage you to look at one of the other options.…
Absolutely stunning hotel. Staff is very nice, rooms are perfect and breakfast is of high quality. we stayed here for new year. the hotel is officially rated a 3 star however i would give them at least 4 Star. there is absolutely nothing to complain. the rooms are big and have all amenities needed. enough sockets for the electronic devides, the bathroom floor is heated. a nice nespresso coffee machine is in the room too. And important too, the room is very very quiete we could hear no noises at all during night. The breakfast had all choices of bread, cheeses, meats, fruits, eggs etc. very delicious. Guests of hotel can also use the open air hot swimmingpool (very funny sitting in the pool surroundet by huge snow walls) as well as the indoor pool . also all areas are very clean. So overall a perfect stay.…
Allegra Hotel is perfectly located right on the main street of Pontresina, very near good restaurants and conveniently adjacent to the pool/spa complex. As soon as we entered the lobby, we could tell the hotel is well-run and maintained. Our room was large and modern, but the best part was THE VIEW and fresh mountain air from the large windows! The morning breakfast was good, with lots of hot and cold choices. During our stay, we had a minor health issue and were very impressed with the personalized assistance we received from Regina (I believe she is the manager). She went above-and-beyond our expectations. Thank you again, Regina! My husband and I highly recommend this hotel.
Booked 3 nights with friends who had already stayed there 5 years ago. Clean, comfortable room (3rd floor) and although directly next to the lift, it did not disturb us at all. Appreciated the coffee maker in the room. Good location in the centre of town. The Manager (Mrs. Amberger) and Daniela (very long surname) at reception made us feel very welcome. I should also include the friendly ladies serving our apéro/sundowners before going off to dinner every evening. Generally, staff were competent, friendly, helpful, with tips on where to eat, (including making our table reservations for dinner), public transport, etc. All in all a very pleasant stay. We did not have time to try the spa/pool. If I have one complaint is that that the bed was too hard. Although I do not like a soft bed, I found the mattress on our bed very hard. but I guess that is a matter of opinion as the other 3 persons in our party did not complain.…
Visiting Hotels during COVID is always an experience. At Allegra they have a good safety concept which makes you feel safe. The Allegra Team is very friendly and professional. On arrival we got our Parking places (limited availability, so make a reservation) and room keys, including a mobility pass for the region. Offering you free access to trains, the bus and cable cars. Great. The 30m2 rooms are really spacious and have modern furniture. Offering a Nespresso pad machine is great but we did miss a refrigerator. Usually they are standard but not here. Breakfast buffet is normal with one big advantage, they are offering REAL CHEESE. (I hate the "cheese" produced for Hotels, coming out of big tins and tast like sh..) So the Cheese get them more bonus points. Almost every day Ms Amberger, who is running the hotel, had time for a chat and when they found out that I was there to climb a mountain, more stories were shared. Good atmosphere, good beds, nice bathtub with shower and modern rooms. We do think this is a good place o stay when you want to visit the region.…
Modern and fresh hotel in the center of town. Large rooms with wooden floors, espresso machine, bathtub. Friendly and attentive staff, good breakfast selection. The hotel has no restaurant, but lots of offerings are available nearby. As a plus free entrance to the pool and sauna centre Bellavita. The only criticism: despite being winter with -18°C outside, the room was very warm and there was no way to reduce the heating.
We spent one week here to go skiing and to relax. The hotel is very well managed, clean and organised. Staff are friendly, approachable and kind. Our room had a very big window, lots of light coming in with a fantastic view of the mountains (like an ever changing painting to watch from the bed). Easy access to the attached wellness centre (as it's public and we were there during holidays it was a bit too crowded for us). Easy to reach by bus and by train, convenient location in the centre of town. Great and spacious storage space for skis (and any other sporting equipment). Highlight: the breakfast. Probably the best hotel breakfast we've ever had (in many years of business and leisure travelling). Contains everything you could wish for of excellent quality. We enjoyed it lots.
