This hotel's strongest points are its situation and its covered garage (book it when you reserve). The rooms are comfortable but not luxurious. If you are on the front you may get a view of the Val Roseg.
This hotel has such big rooms, all with balcony, very friendly staff, near the bus stop, has a big ski room. In the middle of Pontresina next to the ski shop! We love it and we'll be back.the Thai Restaurant has extremely tasty dishes!
This place is not adapted to the needs of disabled people as it should, there is an attempt to do things, but in the wrong sense. Firstly, difficult accessibility of the room via a steep ramp, second, a hardly usable bathroom, also dangerous because risk of injury. It looks like the Italian standard, they completely failed in Execution and implementation of the Swiss standard! Again, what the Environment and Health Office have been looking at?! This place should be called Italianata or at least Italian court, definitively not Swiss court, it have nothing to do with the swissness!
Schweizerhof was our endstation and reward after four days trekking in Bergell/Engadin: Soglio, Maloja, Surlej, Coazhütte and Pontresina. We really enjoyed the fine rooms, the friendly and at the same time sporty atmosphere. Restaurants were of good quality.
Comfortable one-night stay in an alpine style modern room. Limited view as in a lower-level room. A quiet and peaceful vibe but I am sure it is a hive of activity in the winter months. One of the coldest spots on our September-October trip.
Nice Hotel which feels it has been there for many years. Of course the location in Pontresina is fantastic and it is right in the center. The staff at the reception is nice, the rooms are average in size. The furnishings and bathrooms are from the 70s. It does feel like it needs a renovation as here and there you fins it is old (mold in the corners of the showers, shower head that does not stay straight up, etc.). The breakfast room would be really nice, however the one waiter is quite grumpy and they seem to struggle to keep the food available in sufficient quantity, even when there is not such a tremendous choice. Overall it was quite ok but when returning would probably try another one.
While this hotel is a bit of an uphill walk from the train station it was worth the effort. We had a large comfortable room with a seating area like a restaurant banquet. Our only problem was the temperature, they could not seem to turn the heat down enough so that the room was rather warm at night unless we kept the door to the balcony open. The breakfast was extensive, but one morning the eggs were cold, they could not seem to get the burner under the steam pan to work. Otherwise there was a good variety of breakfast choices available. The restaurant associated with the hotel is also quite goo with a large variety of dishes available, including several asian dishes, which is unusual.
We booked a suite at this hotel. Marvelous suite. Worth the money. We had a fabulous stay. Pontresina is a small town and this is undoubtedly the best hotel. They provide free pickup & drop to Pontresina station. The breakfast was huge. Lastly, the hotel staff were very nice.
The hotel is well located in the heart of Pontresina. However, it is a good 10-15 mins uphill walk from the train station. The room was good as we booked a Junior suite room and has ample space for 3 person. We had 2 bathroom and that helps during morning rush. Good bed and relatively clean as we were only 2 nights there. You can schedule a pickup and dropoff to the train station upon arrival or departure with your luggage so that helps with their location. Nothing much was open at Pontresina during our visit as it was off-season so that's something to check before going there. The breakfast was relatively good and has more selection as compared to our other hotel stays. The staff is very limited so if you need a hot water kettle or utensils in the room, you have to go down and pick it up from the front. The lady on the front gives direct and short response. They do lack some charm but it is ok. I guess this is how most Swiss working on the hotel industry are. They do help but you can see no emotion from them. The hotel gave us local pass so we can travel around by train and bus for free for certain local routes. We used this pass to get to Diavelozza which is nice since it was just free. Good place for a couple of night stay. They also have special discount if you want to goto the Bellavista Spa just across the hotel but we never did. There is also a church almost across the hotel and the bell rings for a couple of times during 7pm and 8pm which might be annoying at times.…
Pontresina is approximately 8 kilometers from St. Moritz. The location of the hotel is good, the front desk lady was very helpful, pleasant and friendly. The room was a good size, with a lot of wood, you feel that you are in a chalet. The view was overlooking the mountain with snow on the top. The staff in the restaurant for breakfast was not very friendly, we had dinner in the restaurant the second night, which was OK but not more, This was the most disappointing part of our stay. You can park inside or outside at a cost.
