The waterfront and the historic buildings are the big plus. It is good place for an excursion and for an overnight stay. The official ships stop at this place. You can go for a lake cruise. The food is excellent. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are in good shape and comfortable. They look old because of the... More

This is a lovely little hotel, very reasonably priced for Switzerland. Friendly staff, comfortable, simple rooms. Situated right on the Rhein, beautiful in summer. Very close to the German border. Parking is about 50 meters from the hotel.

Our 3 day stay was the perfect start for 3 weeks in Europe--superb and friendly service, a charming room with Swiss style elegance, great breakfast buffet. Location right on the Rhine river a big plus-- you can take bike or ship for day trips 25 yards from the front door. Across the street the Waaghaus, owned by the same family,... More

The staff are unerringly polite, helpful and discreet. This charming and historical hotel was the setting of my friend's wedding. Embrace the spirit of yesteryear, steep yourself in its vintage charm and take a stroll along the lake and through the village. This hotel experience would delight those in such of history. Those looking for minimalism and gadgets in their... More

Our stay was in the Waaghaus part of the hotel. The rooms appeared rather dated (yes they are supposed to be antique style, but could use some upgrades.) Cloth wallpaper was beautiful, but could use a cleaning. Very quiet and a good place to spend a restful night. The breakfast buffet at 17 Franks / person was overpriced. It was... More

Very nice hotel with authentic atmosphere. Beautiful situated besides river Rhine. Many fine rustic details scattered all over. Fine restaurant with superb staff. Fair price. Excellent for recreational purpose.

This hotel is located near the waters in Gottlieben. It looks like Escape to the Country. Beautiful wooden frame buildings. Hotel and restaurant. I had room 11, spacious, above the main entrance. Lookout on restaurant opposite and parking place. Room is comfortable. Breakfast starts at 7am, enough choice of tasty breads, yogurts. Parking is with a disc until 7pm. Approx... More

Everyday they cleaned the room and changed all the linens. The room is spacious. Everybody are friendly, warm and hospitable even the whole community of gottlibien. We really enjoy our stay there. The problem is, you have to walk around 10-15 mins to ride the train.

This hotel is very, like VERY old, and it shows. The rooms look like something from the 70's, but they are clean, spacious and most of them with a scenic view of River Rhine. The buildings look like a castle, and they are situated in the small but lovely city of Gottlieben. Food is typically German = Good, simple and... More
