Enjoy your stay in Crans-Montana!
We enjoyed a last minute stay here as a family and thought that the staff were charming and helpful, and the hotel was very clean, rooms spacious! Amazing deal with the tourist card the hotel gives you means that you save a fortune on lift Passes etc and can really explore the area, which we loved. A very busy mountain town, with lots to do as a family and lots of nice bars and restaurants. We loved going on the pédalo on the lake! My only concern currently is that, walking around the town and hotel, you would not have had a clue that covid exists - no masks in view (apart from on the ski lifts where this is obligatory ) and I was amazed the hotel restaurant still had free-serve salad bar and breakfast buffet. Other hotels have installed-Plexiglass glass dividers in dining areas, and have stopped people movement and buffets ... I would have felt more comfortable with these measures in place.…
My wife and I stayed 5 nights while watching the Omega Masters Golf Tournament. Our south facing room was immaculately clean and had breathtaking views. Breakfast was excellent and evening meals just as good. Nice variety of food too. Best of all was the helpfulness and friendliness of all staff which resulted in a very relaxed atmosphere. A great base from which to explore this stunning region. Could not recommend more highly.
We staid the first time just one night. But they were super friendly, treating us like habitual guest. View is amazing from the room. Breakfast be careful if you don’t want to gain weight: homemade cakes, marmalade, local cheeses. Strongly suggested.
I stayed here recently whilst on business visiting a new turf installation at Crans Sur Sierra GC. I stay in a lot of hotels and I can honestly say this is the friendliest I’ve ever stayed in. From checking in to leaving the service and smiles were first class. Very nice rooms too and great value for money considering usual Swiss prices. A short walk from Restaurants etc and a good breakfast. Can’t wait to come back sometime
We really loved this hotel. It is cosy and clean, simply but nicely decorated. It has great view. One can see all the mountains from the small balcony in the room. There are huge roses in the garden. From our bath-window we could see a beautiful cherry-tree. But the best is the people who work there. I think they should be nominated in the category best hotel team in the world. We were very warm welcomed on the reception and also during the breakfast the waitress was exremelly friendly. I will recommend this place to all my friends.
The perfect property to enjoy crans Montana: walking distance from all the main attractions yet in a quiet and relaxing location, breathtaking views , super comfy beds, clean and tidy rooms, varied buffet for breakfast with fresh and local options, amazingly professional and kind owner. Only negative feedback, a French speaking blonde girl receptionist who didn’t seem to want to be there...
We booked this hotel for a long weekend break. It was fabulous. We were greeted by the owner who was very friendly and helpful - giving us tips of what to visit in the area which was great as it was out of season and not all lifts for walking paths were open. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner and the lovely Portuguese staff member working at the bar next door and at breakfast - one morning we were still in the restaurant after hours and asked if we were too late for coffee, we got the response "never too late for coffee" - fabulous. The hotel is located on the lake with spectacular views and an easy 5-10 walk to Crans on the one side and the same time to reach Montana in the other direction. We had a room on the first floor with a beautiful mountain view. The room was done out in a traditional way but with a modern twist. I have given the hotel a 4 rating as we have stayed at some fabulous 5 star hotels around the world. If I were comparing like with like, this one would have definitely got a 5.…
Pros: perfect location, amazing and helpful staff, very good breakfast with excellent swiss cheese. We stayed for New Year's and the dinner at the hotel was very good and at a more reasonable price than most other restaurants. We also had a raclette dinner there and it was delicious. Cons/ Bedroom: we stayed at the Lac Lodge, just opposite the lake from where the hotel is. The bedroom was huge, actually like a youth hostel bedroom, with 8 beds! It was clean, with enough storage for the 4 of us and more. The bedroom was cleaned everyday and the guy at the reception was also very friendly. The ONLY problem for us is that whenever there were people in the bedroom next door we could hear them. If they wanted to talk until 02.00 am, we could almost participate in their conversation. Since we were there for skiing and had to get up early my husband had to knock twice on their door ( two different groups at each time ) and ask them to speak lower. Usually we waited until after 11pm before we did that. Because we have kids there was no other way, since they also had to sleep . If you can sleep like a rock, go for it. But if you are a light sleeper or is just usually annoyed by noise, it's better to look for a rental chalet. About the bedrooms at the main hotel I cannot say anything.…
We loved our stay at Hotel Du Lac! I wish I was better remembering names, but we were greeted by a charming lady when we checked in. She told us a bit about the place and mentioned that the owner brewed their beer and roasted their coffee. I mentioned that I home brewed, and she said "I shall tell my manager." Sure enough, when we came down later that evening, he was there, greeted me like an old friend and of course we talked beer. The beer they brew is great! We also attended an event in Crans and it was his beer that was served. The weather called for rain and the peaks were in the clouds so we asked about things to do. We were told the weather would be better in the valley and he suggested a tour in Sion. Because we had our Swiss Travel Pass, getting there was no problem and the museum that we toured was free. His recommendation was perfect for us! Our room was tight by American standards, but comfortable. We had a mountain view from our balcony that was awesome! The location was perfect with an easy walk to either Crans or Montana. Since we were using our Swiss Travel Pass, we came to town via the Funi from Sierre. We chose to walk to the hotel, but there is free bus service in the area if you choose. Breakfast was typical for the region with great coffee! We did not eat dinner there but based upon the cost of eating in town, we most certainly will next time. Bottom line... The staff is great, the location is perfect and we will most certainly stay there again should we return to the area.…
but there are many other pros and no cons that I could notice. The location is great, central, great view on both sides if the hotel and less then 10 minutes walk to the "funiculaire" that gets you to the skiing range. The rooms are clean and comfie. The restaurant is a great bang for the bucks, fixed menu but very very good food. Finally, let me repeat myself, the staff is a gem: kind, always helpful not just at your request but on their own initiative. Were I to get back to Crans-Montana, I would look for a room at hotel du lac.
