Really liked this place - exceeded expectations - for the price - it's a bit of a walk from town if you're not in a car - but through lovely countryside around the lake - so a delightful approach on a good day - the rooms are really comfy and nicely decorated - and the whole hotel has an immaculate feel to it + great breakfast, friendly staff and relaxing garden, nice architecture - chalet style round a central courtyard - definitely a great choice in a lovely spa town. Hope to return

Stayed here for one night on a stopover. All the staff were very friendly, probably the most genuine friendly hotel I have encountered in Germany. The rooms were of average size & had everything needed for a one night stay. The restaurant was average but a small selection of meals. There are plenty of other places around to eat though. Nice area but I should have asked for a quieter room as we were roadside - this didn't stop me getting a good nights sleep, just I prefer a quieter hotel room. The rooms are soundproof however. Plenty of walks nearby & the lake is lovely to visit. Bike ride would be nice but we had no time unfortunately. Worth spending a couple of nights here to enjoy all the area offers. The hotel has bike hire available & is in a rural part of town. Breakfast was great with ample selection of choices available including hot food. Overall, very happy with our short stay & the friendly staff made it even more enjoyable. Wish I had time to use the sauna!

We stayed one night in the Ringhotel Amsterdam. The hotel is ideally located for excursions in and around Bad Zwischenahn in Ammerland, known for it's park landscapes and tree nurseries. You will find a friendly staff, homemade cooking, excellent breakfast, modern facilities, bike rental. you name it, the Ringhotel Amsterdam got it. From the hotel you easlily walk or bycicle to the center of Bad Zwischeanahn, 1.5 miles away, located on one of the nicest lakes in Germany. Rent a boat or take a boatride, visit the openair museum, it's free, and enjoy the local homemade 'Kuchen' in Spieker Gaststätte. There are so many things to do. This area is known for its gardens. Visit the Park der Gärten. Best is to walk through the lively towncenter to the Park. In the evening an nice dinner option is restaurant Ahrenshof. Fine dining in a old Ammerland farmhouse. From Bad Zwischenahn you can easliy reach the old town of Oldenburg, worth a visit and the town of Wilhelmshaven which harbours the interesting German Navy Museum telling you everyting what there is to know about the U-Boot. Another day you can take a boat to one of the Northsea islands like picturesque Langeoog or the more faraway rocky island of Helgoland, famous for it's colony of selas and gannets.. You won't be bored in Bad Zwischenahn. The friendly staff will help you out with your daytrips.

All over a real cozy and comfy Hotel. we arrived in the evening and have called before to make a reservation. 1st contact on the telefon was accurate and proffesional. Frontdesk welcoming was really well done and again efficient and very friendly. We had #56 ( managed to get a good deal trough booking.com) a roof room cozy spacious bathroom with shower. very tidy and clean! A major plus is the quiet and the green surrounding which the hotel is situated! close to a recreational lake. in the middel of german nature. close to the autobahn where its possible to reach further destination. The brekfast buffet is a joy ! Not huge and massive but the right selection of regional products fresh and deliscious. And with a friendly stuff. The best way to start a day ! I sure would recommed this hotel to people who re looking for a relaxing stay in a green setting.

Our large family of 8 stayed in this hotel for two nights while visiting family in the area. What friendly, helpful staff at the desk, restaurant, and bar. I have a wonderful memory of my children & their spouses playing cards round a table in the dining room, German beers at their elbows, late into the night. Certainly wouldn't see that at home! I spent a lovely hour myself curled up in a comfy leather sofa with a glass of wine and a good book in an alcove by the stairs. Lovely way to unwind after a stressful day of autobahn in the rain. We hardly saw any other guests and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. We were impressed by the lovely countryside, clean air, old villages nearby and the lake. The buffet breakfast was huge and very good! The bathrooms were large and spotless, just remember to duck your head if you're in a top floor room. The picturesque dormers were hard on the head! Also remember to request a non-smoking room if that's important. Many hotels in Germany don't offer them, but this one does. Overall, a lovely, relaxing, comfortable place to stay.

In January, 2004, I flew from Lexington to Oldenburg, Germany, for a family emergency. Not being acquainted with the area and needing a Hotel for a few days I found information about this Hotel through internet searching. Oldenburg is a small town about 45 miles from the Harbor on the North Sea in Germany and near the Holland border. Bad Zwiechenahn is about 5 miles from there. Arriving by rental car from Bremen (about 30 kilometers on a nice Autobahn) at night I was actually a little lost. The car navigation system (in English) directed me to the town but I couldn't seem to find the hotel. On the main highway was an information and map kiosk. I stopped the car, picked up the phone, and called the direct line to the hotel (it is a system like you see in major city airports). The hotel desk clerk was upbeat and guided me in English to the hote. It was in a very quiet area, appropriately lighted with parking. The restaurante serves excellent German food and is only open for the evening meal and free buffet breakfast. The rooms are spacious with comfortable furnishings. I especially loved the wonderful down comforter. The room had a great view of the courtyard and a large field behind the hotel. There were biking/hiking trails visible from the room. There is an elevator and also a nice staircase ifyou want to get a little more exercise. The rooms are very quiet. It seemed like I was the only one in the hotel with no noise at all. It was cold outside but the radiator heat was excellent and very comfortable. 'The bathroom is in the room, very small compared to US hotels. The white tiles sparkled in the shower and floors. Housekeeping never interfered once with my stay. They were in and out sometimes while I was at breakfast. The "spa" offered by the hotel was not quite what I expected. The fitness eqipment would pretty much fit into a suitcase. There were some free weights, a floor pedal machine and a small stepper. neatly placed along the wall that led to the sauna. Excellent Dry sauna. The "solarium" is actually a tanning bed which hotel guests can use for 2 euros per visit. The hotel offers bikes and skooters for rentAfternoon tea/coffee at the bar located near the main entrance was excellent. The reception helped me in every way. For the price I paid it was an excellent deal. . There are other restaurants within within walking distance. Remember this is in the country so the meals range from hometown German to gourmet.I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice get away from normal European travel. It is especially convenient if you are travelling around by car.
