We were on our way from Germany to Holland and stopped overnight in this lovely place. We had a room with a view of the beautiful hotel gardens and the lake. When comparing the rooms to the modern hotel restaurant and gardens, they seem to be a bit old fashioned, but they are clean and comfortable and offer everything you need. The service in the restaurant is very friendly and helpful. The evening meal was good and breakfast definitely offers something for everybody's taste. This is a lovely place to stay and offers nice walks and cycling routes around the lake. We would definitely stay a bit longer next time.
Actually hadn't planned on staying here but needed an overnight spot since I was driving from Copenhagen to Amsterdam and there was absolutely nothing in the closest major city of Bremen. But what a pleasant surprise! Lovely hotel, newly refurbished as was my room. Super comfortable bed with lovely linens as the Germans do, super clean and quiet. Wonderful spread at breakfast with everything you could imagine all fresh. And since we rolled in late at night and everything was closed they threw together a little salad and snack for us so we didn't go to bed hungry. It's those little touches that make hotels like this stand out. It was situated on a lake and looked like a lovely area, wish I didn't have to leave first thing in the morning and could have enjoyed all it had to offer.
I booked this hotel for a great price at the last minute. The price really dropped when I booked for the same day arrival and included breakfast and Kurtaxes which really made for a great price. The hotel has a really nice decor. My room was spacious and faced the street which for being out in the country like that was a little noisy when traffic speeds by.
We went for dinner and were not disappointed. Outside sitting offers beautiful view over the lake. Service friendly and fast. Good selection of vegetarian, fish and meat dishes. My favorite sweet potatoes chips. Steak was done to perfection. Great experience.
Great experience in a very nice ambiance. Beautiful hotel with a lovely garden, located right on the lake. on the opposite side of the lake you will find Bad Zwichenahn, a beautifull Wellness resort. The staff is very friendly, taking care of your every need. We'll be back next year!
We booked a room with balcony with view over the lake and it was just as nice as we had expected. Clean and nice room and a big balcony with comfortable chairs. There was also good and free parking just opposite the hotel. Very nice surroundings with the forest and the lake. One thing was a big disappointment though and that was the breakfast. It was not bad but still not what you´d expect a four star hotel would offer. AND you have to pay 15 Euro for it, really expensive for a simple breakfast...We also expected to be able to order room service around 9 pm one night - according to the hotel dodger this was possible - but that was not possible after the kitchen was closed we found out and therefore we did not have any dinner that night (not able to leave the hotel to go to a restaurant when our baby was sleeping).…
This was our fourth time staying at this hotel. We chose it originally because of its ample parking. (Parking with both a car and trailer can be a problem). We enjoyed our stay and came back. It is comfortable with large rooms and has two easy chairs in the rooms whereas so many hotels only have one. It is very clean. The breakfast is of a high quality. We ate in the restaurant and the quality of the food is excellent. All the staff are very polite and speak English. The hotel has a very nice garden which leads down to the lake. The hotel is quiet and we had a good nights sleep.
I spent in the hotel only one night (May 2014) and even if it was really nice and comfortable, my memories are not very good. My booking was made by a company for 1 night during the symposium in BZ: at first for an double room - we were supposed to travel with my collegue. The colleague had to cancel her trip, so I contacted the hotel in advance and asked for an accomodation only for 1 person instead of 2. The change was confirmed via email with a new, lower price. Unfortunatelly, in the morning to the reception, the receptionist told me, that I have to pay the price for 2 persons. I did not have time to do anything, since we were leaving for an excursion and also her English was quite poor (and my German is even worse). Also the wifi connection which was announced in the hotel did not work, so I could not connect and show the email in my laptop. After coming back home, I send an email to the hotel and asked for the fefundation, but I have not ever received any reply, explanation or appology.…
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Seeschloesschen in Dreibergen, on the north side of Lake Meer. This hotel and the surrounding area seem to largely be where people who live fairly nearby come for getaway weekends. The room was clean and appointed with a nice, comfy bed, though in the typical European "split-bed" design. The bathroom didn't have a tub, but was of decent size by European standards with a not-so-large shower and large vanity. We had a room on the second floor at the back of the hotel with a wonderful view overlooking the grounds and Lake Meer. We took the view in from a balcony, complete with table and chairs and lounge chairs with cushions, which we accessed through a sliding glass door. I must say the staff was extremely helpful and friendly; providing us with maps and directions. They were very accommodating, and made us feel most welcome. The included breakfast was good, with eggs, meats, breads, yogurt, and cheeses, though not exceptional. Dining there is expensive otherwise, and we only had a nicely presented dessert. The hotel has bicycle rentals, and there are also small boats which are seemingly for rent, but the weather was against us so we did not inquire. There was also a larger boat which left from the dock at the hotel, presumably to cruise the lake. We walked the road to the left of the hotel as you head to the lake and discovered a restaurant with the fairly typical thatched roof, which we discovered too late as we were preparing to leave. It had indoor and outdoor tables and was tucked away in a garden / wooded area. If staying here, I would investigate that, but there were many other restaurants in the area. It's nice to stroll the gardens here, and on the small hills surrounding the gardens there are benches where one could enjoy a picnic, a bit of privacy and peace and quiet in nature. I would recommend heading to the south side of the lake and Bad Zwischenahn if you wish to get out for a bit. The area lakeside has shopping, restaurants, and outdoor cafe seating. On the east end of this area is Kurpark, a nice windmill and garden area worthy of a relaxing stroll. If you are looking for exciting nightlife, this is probably not the place for you, but if you are looking for a little romance and relaxation, Hotel Seeschloesschen and the surrounding area fit the bill.…
