The good Friendly; really a warm welcome, clean, comfortable, good water pressure in shower, nice breakfast, comfortable beds, great location. The bad Internet connection This was not a holiday. Husband was being operated on in a clinic nearby and our stay was for him to recuperate for 8 days near to the clinic before flying home. During this period, we were both dealing with multiple urgent family and financial issues. We had changed from our original hotel where the internet was unreliable and I had specifically told the management here that the consistent, good speed and above all; RELIABLE internet was our most important pre-requisite. I had been assured, rather patronisingly that OF COURSE the internet was perfect. It wasn't - at one moment it would be exceptional with download of 60 or 70 mbps - at other times, within minutes and with no warning it would either just disappear, or show as connected but not take you to web pages. The Ugly This happened every day: late afternoon/evening - reasonably reliable night/early and late morning - little or no internet usage possible After the first day, when they responded by calling in the technician who said there was a problem with their provider, the national telecom company, they went into denial mode. The usual unacceptable whitewash came up: nobody else has a problem it is something with your machine etc Of course, this strategy also absolves them of the need to actually do anything about it. At one point, after being told it was my hardware problem, I went down into the lobby, connected with an open, unsecured wifi connection that was available there (but not in our room, unfortunately) and took screenshots of my machine's capacity to connect and function perfectly on the unsecured wifi but fail when accessing the same pages on the hotel network. This in order to demonstrate that it was NOT my hardware that was causing the problem. Denial was still the order of the day, and they also told me that I should not insist and that if I wasn't happy with this I could go to another hotel. Very disappointing. If we have to come back for further treatment we will stay at another hotel. If there is any update (we are due to stay for another few days) I will amend/add to this review.

We had stopped at another hotel, which was full, and they reccomended we try this place---good choice! The staff in the reception were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice, modern, with everything we needed. The hotel has an elevator, which many of the older hotels didn't. Location was perfect, right at the end of the main walking street. Sunday breakfast was wonderful, hot foods, meat and cheese, sweets, they even had champagne. Parking was under the hotel, for a fee.

This hotel is very well located when biking the Donau bike-path. It’s at the end of the walking street and therefore closed to restaurants . We got spacious clean room and got great hospitality and a good breakfast with great selection

Always clean and everyone is friendly. Breakfast is fresh and variety is wonderful. Very easy to book (and did not ask for credit card to hold room up front). The rooms are decent size with AC controlled by remote in the room. I've only seen one desktop computer available to use but every room has free wi-fi.

Well for starters, great staff and well they take care of all your needs, From a morning style breakfast which is just great and lots to select from. Room service is great also and while they do not have a business center the double rooms make up for it. Rooms are large and lots of space and can be used as a mini office. Also great location and centrally located and many stores and restaurants along the way which makes it great. Another thing to mention the police station is just across the street which it cool. You can just look out your window and the (Police station) is right there. Located 1.3 km from Straubing town center, this modern hotel is also a 4 minute walk from St. Jakob’s Basilica. The understated rooms feature complimentary Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, desks and mini bars. Some rooms add terraces, and tea/coffeemakers, while suites also have separate living areas an terraces. Kids 4 and under stay for free.
