We had booked two rooms in this hotel via Booking.com. We were given rooms on the 3rd floor in the annex building across the street. One room had been renovated but still had some challenges -- the shower was very slick and actually dangerous. The other room was a terrible green and definitely needed remodeling. The bottom floor door was... More

Hotel is in an old renovated building and very romantic. The staff is very helpful. The location is gorgeous but difficult to access. If you are coming by car you will face an acute angle in to an very narrow and uphill pacing stone street. Also a parking spot is almost a problem, but the staff is very kind to... More

My travelling companion and I had a wonderfully relaxing time at Hotel am Schloss. The location was fantastic for visiting the centre of Town and it's a stones throw from the Schloss itself! The rooms were modern, whilst in keeping with the old features e.g. Beams. The staff were extremely friendly and would go out of their way to help... More

Not easy to reach - a steep hill getting you, just past the hotel, to the castle; and, once in the hotel, it's not easy to reach your room - I stayed on the third floor and there is no lift, just old stairs. But it's worth every drop of sweat! The Hotel Am Schloss (= by the castle) is... More

We stayed down the hill from Hotel Am Schloss for several days but ate every breakfast and several dinners in their dining room or outside on the patio overlooking the village below. The staff was friendly., helpful, attentive, and encouraging when it came to trying new menu items.every meal was wonderful. The food was always fresh. We could not have... More

Not exactly cheap, but this part of Germany is not known for being cheap I suppose. The hotel is located right beside the Schloss, which means most of the rooms get superb views over Tubingen. It is a bit tricky to navigate there if you're driving as the entrance to the uphill street is very narrow and at an awkward... More

We stayed here in June and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Just be aware that depending on your room it can be noisy at night. We had a great view of the castle; but since it was warm and we had our windows open we could hear students until fairly late at night who congregated outside the front... More

Lovely hotel near the castle in surprising Tubingen. Large, comfortable room, although our WC was a little cramped. The separate shower/sink room was much larger. Walk up stairs to room with nice view of the castle gate and valley. Located on narrow street after a sharp turn so drive carefully if arriving by car. The restaurant with a lovely outdoor... More

Had a great overnight stop here. Room was good, big bathroom and nice and quiet. The bed was a little hard for my taste. Right in the centre of the town so easy to walk around. We ate in the hotel restaurant which was an excellent decision, really good local food and very friendly staff. Breakfast was good too, although... More

You would expect everything to be excellent at a hotel like this. And it's ALMOST what you would expect: excellent service, staff, details...But the bathroom is not practical at all, despite its good look, as the shower place has no door to separate it from the rest of the bathroom so the floor gets wet. Good breakfast, and best: Herbert's... More
