Perfection. A castle experience on the Rhine River. It was beautiful and a great experience all around. Great service. Great rooms (small). We loved it! I would absolutely do it again. They really roll out the red carpet for you. The food was good too. The museum was interesting. Cons- no wifi. No A/C. (It's an old castle. :)). They...

We got the last available suite on a Friday night. It was beautiful with a large bathroom, sitting room and a small room that had two single beds off the main bedroom. We did get the 4 course meal and full breakfast included. This is not an inexpensive hotel but to stay in a castle on the Rhine it was...

My husband planned the trip based on Trip Advisor reviews and picked Castle Hotel Auf Schoenburg for our vacation. We arrived and before I even got out of the car I'd pulled out the camera. Every where you look you say "Oh Wow!" and then you have to take a picture. Absolutely stunning views. When we checked in, we were...

We stayed here 9 years ago and on this trip back to Europe we made sure we went in and out of Frankfurt so we could stay again. It is like being your own Queen and King for a few nights. The rooms are Ritz Carlton grade and the included dinner with best for 50 miles. You won't be disappointed....

Location, location, location - looking almost straight down on the River Rhine from a fairy-tale castle should only happen in a dream - but we have just experienced it. We received a professional and warm welcome and were escorted to a room which was really a suite but with the sitting room upstairs. Awaiting us was a complimentary decanter of...

This place blew me away. I've stayed in castles before but this one is now #1 on my list. Staff bends over backwards for you. Food is to die for. Last are the rooms, just wow!!! Easy to take a train, and taxi to castle. Lots to do in the area and the Rhine is a blast.

Spent two nights in this wonderful castle overlooking the town of Oberwesel. It was like a fairy tale! We made the right choice in getting one of the rooms that had elevator service, but I don't think you could make a bad choice in room selection. We were on a two week trip and had lots of luggage to drag...

Absolutely beautiful and stunning castle. Well appointed rooms with complimentary sherry and sodas. Fantastic water pressure in the shower. Comfortable beds. Decent hair dryer. Decent wi-fi. Incredible public spaces to explore: bocce court, life sized chess board, outdoor snooker table, cliffside reading room, ponds, family cemetery, turrets, walls, nooks, and crannies galore. Give yourself a day to just take in...

Wow - we were awed. Several other reviewers took some of my comments. The garden and grounds beg to be explored: an adult "tree house", life size chess board, and an African themed reading "room" which was a hexagonal free standing small building overlooking the valley and Rhine. It was crazy climbing upstairs to our room (even after taking the...

We stayed one night at Auf Schoenburg. We had rooms 19 and 20. Both were charming and first class down to the small details. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the Rhine. The castle was great fun to explore. We spent most of our time walking around the grounds which includes a very large garden. There is a cozy...
