The hotel is a good location with the Schluchsee in front but it's placed near a noisy road/rail with continuous traffic night and day. The room service is very poor (not clean at all) and the hospitality of the stuff is unsatisfactory. Biggest surprise is the breakfast with little portions and no variation at all. There where some pieces of breads (max. 3) and you become the feeling that you cannot ask for additional ones. This is a tipical example how the pandemic is misused in order to save their money. The service in the breakfast was extremely bad-tempered. The food in the restaurant of the hotel was expensive and with very bad quality. At the end the hotel wanted to charge us a huger price than accorded, this we refused automatically. We do not recommend this hotel since there are a lot of more is the area.

We went as a group of friends (3 couples, 3 rooms). We all experienced different issues which sums up a full chaos. The view is amazing, as long as your not paying attention to the hotel. Upon arrival we had to wait 45 mins on check in (no explanation given). Unfriendly personnel. Uninterested and not motivated to work. The rooms were clearly not cleaned in between guests. (Other people’s crusties everywhere) Quit horrid to know with the current corona crisis ongoing. We found a small teddybear filling worth of dust bunnies atop the high wardrobe. Black fungus borders all around the shower(we actually had to go buy cleaning products ourselves as it was too disgusting to use) Rooms were not always cleaned in between days and towels were not always refilled. Don’t waste your money on this hotel. Overpriced, feels like a 2 star or a very low 3. Presents itself as a 4 star online.

As a starless hotel with no active star rating, the Seehotel Hubertus has seen better days. Upon arrival we were given a room right across the desk from the reception desk + entrance hall even though we had booked a superior room at their highest price category. You would expect a quieter room. Heavy machinery blocked the parking lot and we woke to chainsaws at 7:30 on the first morning. No resting in that room during the rest of the day. Room service is very lacking. Cleaning is negligent. The entrance to the hotel from Seebrugg is not uplifting. Resembles a junk yard full of disgarded trains and debris. A bit depressing. A train station that is rotting in its tracks. The hotel location is also out of town, so evening promenades along the lake are out of bounds. The new owner of the restaurant does his best to raise the level, but the hotel has little charm or attention to detail, most likley being run by a impersonal holding of hired hands. A shame, because the view from the terrace is quite nice, minus the ever present logging truck and heavy traffic noise from the adjacent highway running by the hotel. It best attains a low 3 star or even 2 star rating . Clearly overpriced for what it is. Will not return. This hotel has seen better days....

We first went here in the depths of winter whilst waiting for a return train. The staff were v friendly and food was great. We returned in summer and the views were stunning. Much busier that time and staff were still friendly and food good.

The hotel has no ownership structure or procedures. At check-in we were asked to write our names and address on a scrap of paper. The room (02) had no toileteries (4 stars ?) no tea/coffee maker, the shower fittings were not secured to the wall, the carpets was dirty and the lampshade broken. During our stay the room was not serviced, towels not changed and one day the bed was not made up. There were no staff in the hotel only a Romanian lady at the desk. At check-out we were handed a piece of paper with our name and amount claimed, together with the names of 2 other parties, no printed stationery. As we were complaining our debit card was charged with the full amount, the bank confirmed the timing of the withdrawal. The hotel has no public rooms ie lounge, there was a complete absence of staff or anyone making guests welcome. The restuarant is not part of the hotel but run as a separate enterprise. meals could not be charged to the room but had to be paid for as taken. The restuarant operators were magic and the food good, but they gave the impression they knew all was not well at the hotel. Hubertus is no longer in the "Urlaub 2017 Hochschwarzwald" the regional guide to accommodation. The hotel promotes itself and on Booking .com on a false premise. We are seeking redress and compensation, don't ever waste your money staying at Seehotel Hubertus, Schluchsee.
