We booked a room for four persons, but instead received to separate rooms. The worst part was that neither room had a bathroom; our bathroom was located in the way between our rooms and others, and it was unclear if everyone was allowed to use it or just us. Nevertheless it was easily accessible for everyone, all guests could in theory use the bathroom that was assigned to us. This was a great inconvenience.

The rooms were generally not very pleasant; they were small, damp and not very well cleaned.

The redeeming quality of the hotel is its proximity to the city center, and the quiet neighborhood where no sound bothers your sleep.

We stayed in a house 50 metres away down a side street room from the hotel. Clean and spacious room and a good bathroom. Beds were ok but not fantastic. Breakfast was quite simple but ok. Location and service was excellent but I had expected a bit more.

We only stayed one night here traveling from Amsterdam to Berlin, but it was the highlight of our trip. The altstadt is stunning; the best I have ever seen in Germany. The hotel is small and centrally located in a quiet cobbled street within a few minutes walk to to main square. After the tourist chaos of Paris and Amsterdam we did not encounter a single other 'auslander' as we went out for dinner in the UNESCO listed market square. The only staff member we dealt with was friendly and full of enthusiasm for Goslar and it's history. His English was limited but that made it all the more enjoyable for my daughter and I to use our basic German. Great triple room (would be a decent one bedroom apartment in NYC) at a reasonable price with a hearty breakfast. I cannot recommend this hotel enough - do yourself a favor and visit this wonderful place..

This was an excellent, well run hotel and we stayed for 10 nights. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was also amazingly quiet. We were in their annex across the street and had a sitting room, bedroom and great shower. Everything was clean and tidy. It was ideal for exploring Goslar and only 10 minutes walk from the station. There was free WiFi.

We have just spent three nights at the Gosequel, which provides fairly central accommodation in this romantic medieval city. Given the age of this city and its buildings, which escaped the ravages of the world wars, you must expect 'quaint' to be tempered with 'tight' and 'romantic' with ''creak'! This quaint hotel is one of the many timber framed buildings that make up the 1000 within Goslar, so if you don't anticipate modern space, you will not be disappointed. There is a small car park a few feet away, which is a premium in the tight enclosed streets, and the staff will provide you with a pass for ten euro's, refundable on the return of the pass. The room was small, but in fairness, it was the smallest within the hotel. It was very clean and well presented, with a smart modern ensuite, but a poor shower in terms of pressure! The breakfast was a typical meat and cheese buffet with plenty of rolls, butter and jam. For those wanting more British fare, there is cereal and we were also given a boiled egg every morning by the very polite and accommodating staff. The stay was overall very pleasant and this hotel with its very reasonable tariff makes an ideal location from which to visit the city, the market square of which is only a few minutes away by foot. Whilst we would not want to stay in Room 4 again, that being the smallest, we would certainly stay in another room within the hotel and would recommend the Gosequel to other visitors to this romantic medieval metropolis.
