Had the absolute time of my life on Fraser Island last month! Stayed in Palace the night before and the night after my trip. The hostel was a standard hostel, beautifully close to the beach! The staff were friendly (shoutout to Sharmaine). The tour was great, camping so close to the beach is amazing! Loved it.

Arriving at the Palace Hostel in Hervey bay, the staff was super friendly, the rooms clean and organisation good as well. We had a super funny Tourguide who told us loads of interesting stuff about Fraser Island and he was always up for a laugh. Amazing Island and i really enjoyed camping on the beach!

We booked our Fraser Island tour via Greyhound and thought it would be decent with them being a reputable company - how wrong were we! The hostel is dirty (our dorm floor and bathroom didn't get cleaned once the whole time we were there - a total of 3 nights!), the kitchen is small and cramped and the staff are...

Bought our package for Fraser Island tour through Indie Travels in Cairns. The hostel is very basic and actually dirty. I've stayed in a lot of hostels in Auatralia and this was one of the worst. As the campsite on the island was described as a 'permanent campsite' we assumed there might be toilets/showers/BBQ's as with most campsites. There were...

*January 2015* We stayed here before and after the Fraser island trip, when we turned up we didn't have a room (even tho we had booked all our trips through Wicked Travel) They wouldn't contact Wicked travel to try resolve this, they left us to sort it out, which was rather annoyed as we had just driven up in horrendous...

Hostel is very small and crowded for the number of people staying there and the kitchen is such a squeeze during meal times. Room was extremely hot at night and it was midnight by the time the hostel staff came into the room to fix the air con the night before going away on the trip. Good social 'living room'...

Unfortunately the hostel was horrible. There was ants in the kitchen and our bedroom and bathroom. When we told the staff they just sprayed ant killer and didn't remove the dead ants ( I had to ask the staff twice before they didn't anything about the ants) They state that the hostel has won awards and is the cleanest kitchen,...

Hostel 2/5 Fraser Island Tour 5/5 Recently visited Fraser Island through a package deal with Palace Backpackers, the hostel itself wasn't great, staff were helpful but the rooms were very basic, could do with a refresh and a good clean! The tour however was amazing, we were lucky enough to have Chris as our tour guide who was knowledgable but...

The hostel was not what I had hoped for. All the beds in our room had ants and the bathroom wasn't the best. But as an overnight stop before Fraser Island it was ok. The Fraser Island tour itself was fantastic driving around in a convoy of 4x4s! I was nervous to drive to begin with but loved every minute...
