We finally returned to Piemonte this Fall and we could not imagine to spend our week anywhere else. Our group of 7 couples chose Relais Villa D'Amelia as a home base for our culinary adventures in the Langhe Region. The entire staff was always available and attentive. Valentina and Francesca at the front desk, Mila at breakfast, and Emanuela , the Front Office Manager made sure our stay was truly exceptional. The food and beverage staff prepared many wonderful aperitivi and a special dinner for our group. The location is unbeatable. It was easy to experience everything the area has to offer. It was really sad to leave this place and its wonderful people behind but we bring back home amazing memories of this trip. Thank you all and see you next year!
Stayed 3 nights and had a wonderful time. - Room was outstanding - terrace with great views. Front desk staff provided lots of help on local sites and dining. Resturant had amazing views and very good food. Manager Emanula went way beyond in efforts to recover Julies scarf that was left at a local restaurant and send it to us in the US !!! We stayed at 5 star hotels throughout our journey and Villa d'Amelia was the best value by far!
The hotel is very nice and really beautifully located. But what is really a disaster is that when you book a room, it doesn't mean you can eat there: They just said on arrival that they had no table left for us for dinner. Simply blaming this on "COVID" is really a dumb excuse - every other hotel has managed to organise itself by now and, most importantly, it looks at allowing hotel guests to eat in the hotel if they want to and not giving preference to outside guests. So we had to get back in the car after arrival and drive over 20 minutes (each way) to the nearest restaurant. But as I just read in another comment, that was our luck - the other restaurant was great. At least the hotel handled the reservation of the restaurant. Wifi: If you want to download the newspaper, you need a lot of patience: it really doesn't get any slower than this. In the morning you are woken up by a door that slams automatically when one of the many guests leaves the staircase - a pity. The morning meal is great - but I feel sorry for the very young staff: they really give their all and work really hard, but even so can't cover all the needs: it seems like the management is too shy to hire enough staff.…
The room is good and the food at the breakfast is great. That was the good part, unfortunately it ends there. Service at breakfast is not good as you have a bunch of students who are working hard, but without any guidance and totally inefficient. I would not recommend the restaurant for dinner to my worst enemy. The WiFi is so bad I had a flashback to the 90’s. But the worst part is the hospitality, or the complete lack of it. This hotel is managed by the “No, sorry we cannot” mentality. Really disappointing for the price paid. Written by someone with 20 years of professional experience in hospitality. Avoid this. Great building. Come here once they are able to manage the place.
If you want to spend a romantic & relaxing weekend and you are a wine lover, then Relais Villa D’Amelia in the Langhe Region it’s the perfect place to be! What I enjoyed? The views, the swimming pool, the SPA with exclusive use, the tranquillity, the courtesy of staff, the excellent cuisine of Executive Chef Dennis Cesco both for the dinner and for the breakfast), the kindness & the customer focus! It’s definitely a place where I wish to return! Thank you so much for making our stay so comfortable and wonderful!
