Every bed and breakfast proprieter in Ireland should stay one night here to see how the job should be done. From arrival to departure everything is top of the range. Immaculately clean rooms, great food and best of all someone who clearly loves their job. Cannot recommend it highly eonough. Four pubs within fifty yards helps as well.

Proprietor Jacci has a wonderful thing going - a beautiful home, terrific breakfasts and Irish hospitality that she shares with those who stay with her. The decor & furnishings are very pleasing and even a payphone is provided for guests - not something you see anymore. We stayed in room #5 - the triple at the top of the stairs that has views of the church next door. Very nice sized room with a lovely tiled bathroom. Washcloths are provided (if you've traveled in Europe, these can be elusive) as are shampoo and shower gel. The breakfast options were plentiful and delicious. We had dinner at The Crossbar next door - good food & Bulmers on tap! We had a great, comfortable night in Gorteen. Highly recommended.

We just returned from a 7-night stay in Ireland. The B&B was right in the center of town and dinner at The Crossbar Pub next door was great. We upgraded our room as we really needed a good night's sleep and a double bed is a "no-no" As innkeepers from Maine, for me it is always about the bed and the breakfast...as I say "the rest is up to you and God." The breakfast was very good and chatting with Jackie was very interesting. The town is very quaint and what you think of when you think of a small-village in Ireland. The inn and rooms were very clean and she made tea for us after we went for a walk.

A very pleasant, off the beaten track, place to stop. Jacki is full of enthusiasm and energy even after a long season of seven days a week catering to the public. Adding to the hospitality, this B&B obviously is dedicated to the interests and wellbeing of the traveler. You did not feel like you were in someone's home. It is worth going out of your way for the experience.
