We have just returned from a long weekend stay at the Church view in Gorteen. A trip down memory lane for my dad's surprise 70th birthday was made even more special by the comfort , cleanliness , great breakfasts and the very welcoming approach put on by Jackie over the 3 days. We will all definitely return and would recommend the Church View to anyone wanting to stay in and around Gorteen.....

This B&B is in the very small town of Gorteen. There is not really much around the town. It would be great for someone looking for nothing to do. They have 5 rooms, 4 upstairs and a handicapped accessible room downstairs. No elevator and very steep stairs. All floors are wood and there is quite an echo, especially at night when someone returns to the upstair rooms. We had the one room downstairs and one upstairs. The downstairs room, # 3, is of fair size. It has a bath set up for someone with mobility problems. Toilet is higher than normal and a walk in shower. The shower just had a curtain that wrapped around. The room was clean and decorated very nicely. However, it is very dark. One ceiling light and did not do much. There are two table lamps which give a litte

We stayed only one night ( Sept 6)that time allowed us. We had a great chat with our host Jacci informing us of farming and peat practices of the past. Local info was great too. Our room was a good size overlooking the church yard. Bedding was very comfortable, breakfast choice good and tasty. Water pressure also enjoyed. Although no Irish music in the pub that night it had a friendly atmosphere created by the locals there. The whole experience was relaxing and homely. Jacci's attention to detail and pride in her B and B shows through. Would recommend this to one and all - loved it.

Stayed at this beautiful B&B on friday 15th August due to attending the Fleagh in Sligo. Every bed & breakfast and some hotel owners in Ireland should stay one night here to see how the job should be done. From arrival to departure everything is top of the range. Immaculately clean spacious rooms with everthing that you could posibly want or need. Breakfast was fab with a great choice to choose from thus meeting everybody's needs and will put together your breakfast as you desire. The lovely plesant lady owner is very thorough, attentive and very friendly. This is a standout property and deserves to be at the top of any list for accommodation recommendations! Cannot recommend it highly eonough. Would stay here again when i'm in the area.
