Chalet Perdu provided everything you expect of an alpine chalet - lots of natural wood, comfortable sofas around a fireplace, cosy bedrooms, but combined with modern bathrooms/showers, free view TV and a well equipped up to date kitchen. The upstairs balcony and lower decking and garden offered a choice of places to sit and soak up the view at all times of day, while the sound of cow bells whilst relaxing in the hot tub in the evening gave you a real feeling of being in the Alps. There were lots of beautiful walks nearby ( the chair lifts operate from mid - June ) but our favourite was when we drove up to Mt Caly and walked from there - the views across the alpine meadows to Mont Blanc were magical. The Botanical Gardens at Samoens are also well worth a visit.

Recently returned from a fabulous week staying in Chalet Perdu Les Gets. The Chalet is a few minutes walk from the main lifts and central Les Gets which is ideal. If you hire skis as most of our party did then these can be left n the heated boot rooms in the ski hire shops at the end of the day rather than lug them to the Chalet. The numerous shops are opposite the lifts and merely 100m from the Chalet. That said there is a small boot room area at the Chalet but it is limited on space.
The Chalet has 5 double rooms one of which has a mezzanine floor with additional beds. 5 bathrooms of which 4 en suite and one separate bathroom for the 5th room.
Our party consisted of 8 adults and 4 children. It’s could be a bit of a squeeze if it’s 12 adults at meal times but doable albeit “cosy”

The Chalet mattresses were firm, comfortable and good quality so a great nights sleep is assured. As mentioned by others there are some nice touches such as robes and good quality toiletries

Cameron and Olivia (x2) coped admirably with all our dietary needs on their first hosted week. Not an easy task. The food was delicious and a variety of breakfast options through the week. Homemade cakes and a pot of tea will be waiting as you return at the end of the day. They also ensured our glasses were topped up throughout the evening and greeted us with homemade canapés before dinner. You will not go hungry!

The Chalet also has a separate cabin where you can eat fondue sat around a roaring fire which made for a cosy enjoyable evening. The Mazot is also a separate self contained unit which is ideal for honeymooners and a short break for couples. So realistically the whole Chalet could sleep a party of 14 but you wouldn’t be able to seat everyone at dinner.

Fantastic, cosy, well appointed Chalet. Great hosts and of course some of the best snow and skiing for years! Would definitely recommend and would certainly stay again so that’s a ringing endorsement from us👍

The chalet exceeded all of our expectations. The food and service were second to none; on arrival we were greated with a fabulous kir royal and canopes which certainly set the tone for the rest of the trip. The chalet hosts were extremely attentive and ensured the chalet was kept impaculate. We specifically enjoyed the alpine lodge, where, on many a night, we sat, cosied up in our dressing gowns basking in the heat of the roaring fire- the perfect way to end a hard day skiing. Conveniently located only a few minutes walk to the ski lifts and the centre of les gets I would highly reccommend this chalet to anyone looking for a luxurious trip away from their busy lives.

This part of an email sent to the owner after our visit in February 2014.
She undertook to come back to us after she had investigated but we heard nothing further.

We got back late last night having set off yesterday morning, the Tunnel was really busy so it was after 1-00am when we got in.
I thought I would write to you and give you some feed back on our stay at the chalet.
Having had a great time last year, despite Jane breaking her arm, we were really looking forward to the holiday this year, unfortunately we were left disappointed.
There were two major issues, one you are aware of, the blocked toilets. Whilst I know that problems can happen, we have all been there at some time in our lives, being unable to contact a member of staff could quite easily have turned a drama into a crisis. Fortunately between us, the guests, we had enough knowledge to unblock the drains/toilets although it wasn't the most pleasant of operations.
Had that not been the case, being unable to contact the manager or any other member of staff would have left us without toilet or shower facilities. When I met Danny the following morning he asked why I didn't call him. When I showed him my telephone with the number of attempts to call him, he just said he couldn't understand why I hadn't got through although the number I dialled was correct.

As I have said we all know problems can happen and in this case no real harm was done.

The most disappointing aspect of the week was the food, or lack of it. Last year when we stayed the food was both excellent and plentiful, this year it was very different. Out of the six breakfasts we were served, three comprised two small sausages, and a table spoonful of scrambled eggs, one was a piece of smoked salmon and a tablespoonful of scrambled eggs, a continental breakfast and two small pancakes (about the size of a saucer) each with a piece of lemon, maple syrup or sugar. Three of our party are teenagers who were still hungry after breakfast! You might ask couldn't they fill up on toast? Each morning we were given 4 slices of white and 4 slices of brown bread, on pancake morning we asked for more and were given another4 slices. On the mornings when we had sausages there were several left over after we had been served, these were not offered to us but were either eaten in the kitchen or taken away with the staff.

You will note that we never saw a rasher of bacon, a tomato, a mushroom or beans.

We were never asked if we wanted more and to be honest it does irritate when the staff appear to be eating your breakfast.

As the rest of our party were leaving at 7-30 this morning they asked Deb's if she could make them a bacon sandwich each to take with them rather than have breakfast before leaving, Robin did this for us last year. Deb's stated that "she takes her instructions from Danny" and we had to speak to him. They spoke with Danny who said they could arrange sandwiches, in the event it was ham and cheese together with a large slab of cheese and a leftover piece of cake that we had on Friday. Still no bacon! These were left in a plastic carrier bag the night before and no staff were at the chalet when everyone left in the morning.

The evening meals composed canapés, a starter , main course and alternate nights a desert or small cheese board without crackers. Whilst we didn't drink much wine, probably three bottles a night between nine of us, when we needed a bottle of wine we had to ask for it. On one particular night one of the teenagers asked for an alternative to the fish being served and was given a single pepper stuffed with couscous he ended up going out and buying pizza's for the three of them as they were still hungry.

I could go on but I hope you have got the picture. It felt as if the staff were trying to provide the minimum and on the last night when duck was served they were cooking duck for themselves whilst the guests were eating.

In summary Trish, when I booked and paid for the weeks holiday I didn't negotiate the price down or ask for a lesser service and yet it felt as if we were being short changed. You might say that maybe Robin provided too good a service last year but having stayed in catered accommodation in Courcheval 1850 and Megeve we know what the standard is and this year it was woefully short of that standard.

As said at the beginning, I am writing this email to provide you with feedback as I think your current management team are letting you down.

Kind regards

So we stayed here March 2016 for 1 week with friends and family and were really disappointed with the service and lack of room for 11 of us
This is a part of our email I sent to Robyn after our visit (I've never done a review before but felt like we'd been ripped off so had too)

Good Morning Robyn,

Regards from Les Gets!

I write this very carefully as it's the first time I've actually had to do so......
Just a quick email to say that we're very disappointed the overall experience in the chalet!!
We've stayed at many chalets over the years and we're not demanding customers but we expect a certain standard of service for the money we've paid...being advertised as a 4* chalet.
Just to list some of the things that we've found difficult are
1. The food. As advertised, chalet Perdu takes food seriously, well, it's been mediocre to say the least, no choice or discussion about meals, running out of eggs for breakfast, no bacon for a couple of days, we've had to request ice cream for the kids after their dinner, no offer of vin chaud on balcony or in hot tub as advertised (only given to us if requested), no drinks offered to children at all, no hot chocolate for the kids at the end of the day as they didn't have any when we asked for it, mouldy fruit in bowl which we've had to throw away. We have had to ask for drinks the whole time we've been here. We had a barbecue night and there was nowhere near enough food for all 11 of us! Also the last night we had to go for takeaway pizza from Tyrol as not enough food for us all again! We could carry on.....

2. Servicing of the rooms or lack of it. We've always stayed in chalets and the rooms are always freshened up( new toilet rolls, beds made, clean towels, bins emptied ect) we've had to ask for these...and still not done! we are quite relaxed customers and said on their day off it's fine not to do it but expect it on work days! Me and Kelly stayed in the downstairs room and it had an awful smell of sewerage all week (something seriously wrong, very bad and not acceptable in a holiday let), the towel rails in 2 of the bathrooms not working so hard to dry our ski clothes, hot tub not filled after we asked them to do this a couple of times......so we had to do this ourselves!

3. Staff issues. We understand Liam had pneumonia which we totally get staff get ill (although after a couple of days he was driving around again! Miraculous recovery!!) To be fair Hannah has done her absolute best in trying to do it all (and is a real credit to Chalet Perdu), she was trying to look after 11 of us! And the Mazot! But we should of had cover for Liam.....
We paid a premium for a service which we feel wasn't delivered for the money especially this late in the season.... We had other options!

We could carry on as there is many issues, but I think you get the gist of how we feel and you should know our concerns as its a reflection of your company and needs to be sorted!!!

Really disappointed customers, we won't return........

Barker, Perkins & McMahon families

Robyn did reply saying she'd look into it and get back to us but never has, bad business if you ask me!

This could be so much better as location is fantastic and very cosy inside but please guys sell it for 8 people and not squash people in for money, sort the service out till the end of the season not just the beginning and it could be what you advertise...

Response from R S, Owner at Chalet Perdu
Responded 8 Sept 2016
Hi Steve Firstly I apologize for not getting back to your email. There are were clearly a few issues with the staff, but it's obvious that you were expecting services which we do not offer as standard, indeed things that do not appear anywhere on our marketing material or website! The comments regarding lack of food are a bit of a shock to us - lots of leftovers (they took photos!)! As for ice cream, as agreed the children were eating the adult meal which we don't normally serve with ice cream! Initially you wanted to book for 9 people, then made the decision to 'squash' people in for the money yourself - we charged you an nominal amount for these extra guests as we always recommend larger groups to take the Chalet and the Mazot together, but this wasn't possible at the late stage which you booked. I hope in future that you find a Chalet more suitable for your needs, clearly ours isn't it! I would also suggest that if you have so many complaints that you get in touch with management earlier than the last day - not much can be done at this stage! Regards Robyn & Trish @ Chalet Perdu

My wife and I stayed at Le Mazot in January 2013 for a long weekend. "IT WAS FANTASTIC"

We arrived on a Wednesday night about 9.00pm. We were greeted at the entrance by Robyn the owners daughter. She lead us up a few steps to the small Chalet Le Mazot. Waiting on a table outside was a bottle of bubbly. Great start! Robyn showed us around (that didn't take long) and asked what time would we like our breakfast delivered each day.

The breakfast was a great start each morning. At 8.00am the cow bell outside rang. By the door was a hamper and a hot flask off coffee or tea if preferred. Each day there was a slight change. Always Croissants, cheese, fresh fruit, yogurts but one day we also had added a bacon roll, another day even had an omelet. We had breakfast in bed each morning before hitting the slopes.

Lovely warm bathroom down stairs with roll top bath, WC and shower. Two white bath robes and the biggest white towels you have ever seen.

From the window you can see the main chair lift at the bottom of Les Gets Mountain. This is a new six person chair. You can also buy your ski pass here.

Trish, the owner has made arrangements with a very good ski shop just in front of this lift for you to leave your skis and boots each day. This was nice so you just walk about four minutes to the ski shop in your snow boots and then collect your bits. At the end of the day you just return and put your snow boots on. No walking around in ski boots. Le Mazot is not ski in/out but this makes up that. Also if you need to hire they give you a discount. We took our own skis and they were still very happy to offer us the same free service.

We ate out each night in different restaurants. Had a walk through the village and decided each night which one we liked. Everyone in Les Gets is very friendly.

Le Mazot is a one hour drive from Geneva Airport. Trish will give you advice on transfer when you book. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We will defiantly go again. Thank you for a great weekend.

My partner and I stayed in Le Mazot, in the grounds of Chalet Perdu, for 3 nights just before Christmas, and it certainly was the most perfect holiday that we have ever been on.

While arranging the trip, Trish, the owner of Chalet Perdu, was extremely helpful. Her prompt and informative replies to emails meant that we were able to arrange everything quickly and easily, and her friendly manner made things much more relaxing!

Arriving a little late at Geneva airport, we were keen to get to Les Gets. I was pleased that the staff at Chalet Perdu had pre-booked us a taxi, as recommended by Trish. The driver was very friendly and the heated seats were much appreciated! After a comfortable and scenic drive into the mountains, we arrived in a very snowy Les Gets.

Chalet Perdu was hidden from the road and up some steps. We were greeted with a smile by Carla, the lovely Chalet girl, who welcomed us and directed us to Le Mazot. Under a blanket of deep snow, Le Mazot looked very beautiful. Icicles hung from the roof. It is a very classically and romantically decorated wooden chalet, the perfect size for a couple. The small wooden steps and balcony had been cleared of snow and a small table and chairs sat outside the tiny door.

Inside, the chalet was very cosy and warm, had a large, comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities, iPod dock and ceiling lights which had the option of a “romantic” setting. There was a staircase down to the most amazing bathroom I’d ever seen. It was big, with a free standing bath, a large and perfectly functioning shower (quite a nice break from our too-hot-too-cold shower at home!!), dressing gowns and fluffy towels the size of double bed sheets.

Attention to detail in Le Mazot is obvious from the décor and the service provided by Carla and Dani, the chef. After informing Trish that neither of us drank champagne (which was usually left for the guests’ return from the slopes) we were given, instead, beautifully presented cakes and pastries. I’m still not sure whether these were bought from the local patisserie or made by the very talented Dani. Breakfast was brought to us each morning and left outside on the balcony; the cowbell outside was rung to announce its arrival. Breakfast was a feast. We were given cereal with a little glass bottle of milk, apples, bread and butter, cold meats and cheeses, chocolate croissants and orange juice. It was all lovely. After we left each day, the chalet was cleaned, tidied and replenished as appropriate, and looked as gorgeous as when we first arrived. The path to the Le Mazot and Chalet Perdu was also cleared of snow everyday by Carla and Dani, but the rest of the garden was left to build up with snow, which looked very pretty.

With the festive spirit in the village of Les Gets, the few days we spent there were very jolly. We especially liked a little café we discovered on the last day called (I think) ‘Un Peau De Vache’. It was very interestingly decorated and the owner was very cheery; he made us pancakes with toppings which weren’t on the menu. Also, walking in the mountains was beautiful. The trails were deserted, so very peaceful, and the snow-covered trees and derelict ancient mountain chalets made the walk stunning.

Our stay was amazing. I believe that staying in Les Gets just before Christmas was a wonderful time to be there. Thank you so much to Trish, Dani and Carla for all their help, for being so lovely and for making the trip so special. I would thoroughly recommend Le Mazot, and Chalet Perdu, to everyone.

Simply excellent.
Paula, Dawn and Elle were superb, food out of this world, service spot on, and marshamallows made all the difference in the Arctic Shed!
Chalet location is spot on, 2 mins from the main lift.
We will certainly be looking at a return trip in near future!

My partner and I stayed in the Mazot for a 5 day break just before Christmas. This little place is amazing! The ski slope is just a stones throw away with easy access.

On arrival Liam, Hannah and Abbey were very welcoming!

Each morning for breakfast we had hot croissants, pan au chocolate, fruit and yogurts along with tea, coffee and fruit juice whilst sitting out in the balcony, overlooking the ski slope.

The bed was a excellent, comfortable and spacious. Little kitchenette with tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. Downstairs was a large bathroom with a roll top bath and shower. There were fresh robes and slippers which were ideal for evenings when using the private hot tub.

Champagne and cakes were waiting for us each afternoon when we got back to the Mazot. This was a lovely added touch.

There was little snow during our visit, however there is still plenty to do for those who do not wish to ski - hiking, trip around the village on the petite train, ice skating, shopping, bowling and lots of choice for bars and restaurants.

We spent one evening in the Nordic lodge, which was a lovely way to end the day with a glass of wine or cocktails of your choice made by Liam.

This is a perfect romantic get away for 2. We will most certainly be back!!!

What more can we say other than a big to Liam and Richard we have had a lovely time away with the family in this beautiful chalet situated in the center of les gets, The chalet is a hidden gem with beautiful features and plenty of attention to the little details.

upon arrival Richard and Liam were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. helping us with our bags, getting us settled in etc. we have been presented with beautiful food over the week that we have been here. portions have been plenty full and of a very high standard.
one thing we must say is no matter what time of the day its so great to be welcomed with a smile and good conversation. it is so nice to meet people that work for such a child friendly company these guys really couldn't do any more for us and our children.
we all feel that Liam and Richard are a real asset to Chalet Perdu and would love to come back and see these guy again. They let nothing stand in there way to deliver a good service and make your holiday special.

Wish these guys all the luck in the future its been a pleasure.
