The spa that sharked us. everything is done to make this week unforgettable
So we book for a 20minute massage with the promise of an hour long indoor and outdoor swimming pool and sauna experience prior to the massage…
To start with we were greeted warmly and the hotel itself was very beautiful and left a great instant impression.Until we were taken to the swimming pool via the restaurant which was a little strange at first. We were then taken down to the swimming pool and sauna area and given robes, towels, and slippers included in the fee. From this point we were left alone….
There was no outdoor pool in this area, just the indoor and two saunas. We were never shown the outdoor pool or told how to get there. The massage was not very punctual.
After the masseuse arrived we were told to gather all of our belongings, and whilst in our robes, and towels we had to go upstairs back through the restaurant in to the massage room. This felt very awkward….
Finally the massage was weak and was definitely not worth so much. It felt more like a stroke rather than massage.I requested for an upper body massage, but attention to arms was not given also no one asked how strong we wanted the massage.
After the massage we were told to take a shower, but there were no hair driers after, or changing rooms so I had to go with wet hair back to our hotel as I did not realise they wouldn’t provide this.
In general, I think the plan of the retreat should be better specified to the client so they know what they are doing.Perhaps if we were to stay at this hotel the experience may have been less awkward but for someone coming from the outside it did not leave a great impression and we were very disappointed and expected more.
Our advice is to not go here for this kind of service or just make sure to specify and ask every detail as the staff I think expect you to guess and know things.
Also, we expressed were were disappointed about not being shown the outdoor pool and a manager said she would see what she can do and will come back after the massage but she never came back.

The rooms are small, they are comfortable but you don’t have a lot of space to put your clothes and in our room using the shower flooded the floor. It’s a great location you can walk to the Diablo and also all the bars in town. The staff are very friendly.
The food on half board is cordon bleu and not necessarily what you need after the day skiing. We adjusted our menu every night and the kitchen struggled with delivering vegetarian food and avoiding nuts,
Overall, we had a wonderful holiday as a family in a romantic and small hotel.

An authentic decor that plunges you into the heart of the mountain for a unique moment of escape!
It's simple, we enjoyed everything!
The room and its cozy beds, quiet, hearty and varied breakfasts so as to take strength before going skiing.
Sunday tea with its pastries to fall on the ground and especially the blank which is a real "nuts".
The SPA area where it is good to relax after a sports day, the gym and its various machines very nice to exercise on days when the weather is not nice.
Half board is a pure moment of gastronomy and refinement with a different menu each evening, congratulations to the chef! A treat every moment!
Don't want to walk to the gondola, a little shuttle bus and we drop you off at the foot of the slopes. Special mention to our "drivers" available at discretion.
All the staff, very professional, are very caring, all in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere!
THANK YOU to the Chalet Mounier team for taking care of us during our stay which will remain in our memories.
Half board is really the level of a very good gourmet restaurant, the staff is very professional but at the same time friendly and laid back. The interior and exterior of the building are extremely warm, everything is decorated and thought with taste. Without ostentation but with delicacy. The garden is beautiful, but when it is covered in a thick white coat, you touch the sublime.
This is a place of high standing but with a soul!
And as an added bonus, it is even possible to enjoy it without having to break your bank account, as people outside the hotel can have a drink at the bar, or book a table at the restaurant of the chalet or the little Polyte (the starred restaurant), or even enjoy a massage and access to the spa.
