Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Used this as a pit stop enroute from Uk to Spain. Great location for being just off the motorway in an industrial type area with a lovely steakhouse restaurant next door and hyper market a few minutes walk away. The room was somewhat dated and very small but with adequate facilities. Travel sized kettle with plastic disposable cups and one tea bag and one coffee sachet between 2. The room itself had the hint of a damp dog smell and my partners asthma triggered so assume recently a dog stayed in the room. Very comfortable bed - had a great nights sleep. Bathroom was nice with both bath and shower.

Lovely hotel based on an industrial estate Plenty of diy type stores and a hypo market. Hotel is in a great position on the main route through France to Spain.Nice hotel friendly staff . Nice beds, restaurant next door . They had a kettle in the room but no cups or coffee sugar etc ,don’t know if their should have been . Would have been a great idea as we arrived late after a long drive. Their was complaints about breakfast but I could not understand why . Their was a good selection of everything except egg and bacon, but what do people expect this is France. I certainly did not expect it . Thank you for a lovely stay .

Convenient location just off the motorway. Friendly lady on reception and then breakfast duty. Clean room, comfortable bed and decent bathroom. Excellent value and good free parking behind the main building.

We arrived late and so didn't really see much of this hotel. However staff were friendly and the room was simple. Bed was comfy, everything clean and the shower/bathroom good. I'd recommend it for a budget stopover hotel. Wifi worked well too.

This is a clean and simple two star hotel just off the motorway if you are headed to or from Spain. No problem parking. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The room was absolutely fine, and the breakfast next morning perfectly OK. The main attraction for us was the dog friendly room. There is also plenty of grassland near the hotel to walk your canine companion(s). If we do this trip again, we'll stay here.

This hotel is okay (basic, but clean) as a stopover as it is just off the Toll road and it served its purpose as it had a bed and shower room. Could not really say more than it was clean, I thought expensive for the type of hotel, the reception staff were helpful. A restaurant is next door, which again was okay, but expensive for what it was.

Driving north past Bordeaux, this was the first hotel we found in Saintes. After driving past several others in the area, we decided to return to this one as it was back from the main road. My wife and I were not disappointed. The room was generously sized with a large bathroom and bidet. The bed was very comfortable. There was a nice boulangerie just around the corner and a mall a short drive away. The room was quiet and clean, and had closing shutters and decent WiFi. There is a bar upstairs where they also serve breakfast. We were impressed enough to return the following evening on our way back south.

We were welcomed by a very pleasant lady on reception who informed us clearly about the hotel facilities. This was a good first impression and we found our room on the first floor, number 9. However, we were greeted by a smell of smoking so needed to open the windows. The room was a decent size, as was the bathroom. Everywhere was very clean, if 1970's décor. There was an efficient hairdryer, complementary toiletries, plentiful hot water and good towels. There was a wall-mounted flat screen TV although the shelf that obviously housed the older model was still in place. It was useful to have sufficient storage space, a table for working and a useful facilities guide. Although the WiFi is only available in a corner off the hotel reception. The room fixtures themselves were all in good condition. We found the mattress quite bizarre as it felt more like a water bed! It was a strange rolling sensation. The bed covers were a bit tired and needed updating. With the windows open there was some traffic noise but not too detrimental. The bar looked very inviting but it was not open in the early evening or when we returned from our evening meal, despite the fact that the advertised opening hours were 5pm to 10pm. The hotel does not have a restaurant although there is La Boucherie steak house next door which was packed, not surprisingly as the food was excellent, especially the beef kebab. The only other eating alternative is the nearby Campanile restaurant. For 60 euros, this was quite expensive and somewhat disappointing.

Late at night, this was the first hotel we found off the motorway. It is well overdue for a refurbishment . Decor is 60's, and all the fixtures and fittings are old. Must admit, the bed was extremely comfortable and we had a great sleep. The building is far enough from the motorway not to here it even with the window open. Some issues, bathroom door handle fell off, shower in bath does not have a curtain, so when you have a shower, the whole bathroom floor and toilet gets wet. Cleaner needs to do a better job, bed side tops need a good wipe, bathroom floor did not appear to have been mopped since the last tenant. Still had foot prints on it. Tictac container and Cotton balls on the floor under bedside table. Broken coat hangers in cupboard , extremely small TV on far wall. Breakfast was good value and coffee was good. All in all, good value, just needs some time spent on the rooms and decor
