We were due to stay at this hotel on an overnight stop during a drive home to Spain. On arrival at 16:00, the door was locked and we were told to come back a half hour later, even though it did say we could check in at 16:00. Quite frankly, it beggars belief that a hotel could close and lock its doors towards potential guests rather than being welcoming and inviting them in. I am in complete agreement with other comments about the hotel's exterior and shabby appearance. Needless to say, we will not be coming back!
This isn't the best Kyriad I have been to and I have stayed in many throughout France. The bathroom door wouldn't close properly. The shower leaked over the floor and the beds aren't even made properly.
Our hearts sank when we pulled up at this hotel it looked tired and run down and did not improve much when we got inside. This hotel bore very little resemblance to the pictures on the website. The staff however were welcoming and helpful. The only good thing to say about the bedroom was that it was clean and tidy but somewhat on the very small size. There was no working kettle (there was one but it did not work) and no complimentary tea/coffee as indicated in the hotel description thankfully we had are own travel kettle. There also was no hair-dryer which was also indicated in the hotel description. On the upside we did have dinner in the restaurant which was good. Just about adequate for a night stop for the price.
Greeted very cheerfully by the enthusiastic owner and the chef. Comfortable room, decent shower and fine bed. Downstairs the dinner was really good, all dishes explained by Herve the chef and well cooked. Continental breakfast fine. Good stop on our way North.
As soon as you walk through the door you know this hotel is just a bit different from the rest. It is SO stylish. A comfortable relaxing room and a beautiful bathroom. A restaurant that produces excellent and very reasonably priced food cooked for you and presented with style. The whole experience made me forget that I was close to the motorway. I will definitely stay here again.
Room small smell of cigarette smoke on all bed covers pillows and shower curtain.Heating on but none in shower area which felt very cold.Staff were very friendly and polite check in was easy. Location tricky to find thought we were driving on to a car sales yard as it is next to car sales which overspills on to hotel entrance ..
The heating didn't work, noisy (definitely the main doors when they close, you can hear everything that happens outside your room.), French-like very small. Definitely not worth the €75/night like we paid. We stayed with our dog and had to pay €10 extra. Which is way too much for the space and comfort. Advantage is if you stay with your dog you can just go outside and don't need to go through half the hotel. Bed was okay. Not really a 2 stars hotel, rather a motel. Just really basic.
Stayed one night in two twin rooms and with four motorcycles. Rooms were small but comfortable. Owner and staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Took a taxi into town as it's quite a walk over busy roadways. Couldn't get a taxi back but a bar owner gave us a lift in the end - think maybe he wanted to close! Saintes is lovely.
The bad first Room basic, some tops of tiling not finished and little space to move in bathroom ,no hair dryer , no milk for tea. Very noisy and hot. Breakfast basic mainly packet products small portions , sort of thing you take on a picnic. Not value for money. The good. Bed comfortable and shower strong. A nice man greater us upon arrival. Overal Having stayed at campanile and similar before I felt a little let down by this chain . I probably would not recommend it to others as there are better and we paid considerably more than the lowest price on the market at time
We've stayed at a Kyriad before and were pleasantly surprised at what we got for the price. This one is very much like a motel - rooms were basic but clean and had direct access outside. Our bathroom was windowless with dark tiles, so a bit claustrophobic, but everything worked fine and was clean. We didn't eat here so can't review the restaurant. The staff were very helpful - English wasn't spoken by some of the staff so sign language worked out fine. They stored our cold blocks in their freezer and gave us milk quite happily when we asked for it.
