Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The idea is original but it lacks the main welcome and love of the profession. The bedrooms are bedrooms there is no charm, to help out one night it will. the region is wonderful I do not necessarily recommend this Hotel restaurant.

Sitting by the fire on long wood tables and having traditional food. This is the summary of the experience in this restaurant. The steak is very good, prepared to perfection. The staff is doing their best to serve the many people coming on a weekend.

As other travellers have remarked the hotel rooms are not fancy but clean and strong showers. The service is very friendly and dedicated to make you feel welcome. I would advise eating in the restaurant as the "Aligot" is definitely one of the best I have tasted, all products are local and home made and I absolutely loved the homemade cakes served at breakfast. Superbly located in the middle of the village I would recommend as a nice, authentic overnight stop if you are exploring the region

We stayed here for a night to visit a nearby restaurant. The hotel is a little old-fashioned and a bit tired looking but can't be faulted for price, cleanliness and service. The room, although a little small, was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed and a nice range of pillows. The small bathroom was clean and tidy with a good shower. We didn't avail ourselves of the breakfast as we'd had ten courses of food the night before but what we saw on offer looked good value for the money. The service was very good...for example the owner took us to the restaurant about 15 minutes drive away as a complementary service. If you coming to the area then this is a good place to stay for visiting the many sites around about,

We were in Laguiole to buy steak knives for a client, and we just intended to stop here to get wifi to check TripAdvisor on where to eat lunch. We couldn't get online, so we just ate here. What good luck! Nice waiter trying his English while I tried my French. He said we really should try the aligot, (mashed potatoes). Hmmm, didn't sound good, but what a surprise when the waiter twisted the potatoes on two spoons à la salt water taffy and deposited it on the plate. What a bizarre local dish with an unusual texture. Everything we had was prepared excellently and delicious.

The hotel - and particularly the restaurant - could not have been better: excellent food, attentive and smiling service, well-priced. The dining room is large but so well-decorated and arranged that it felt intimate for the two dinners we ate there. The house tripes were the best I've ever eaten. Despite the miserable weather during our stay, this hotel/restaurant made our stay in the area a pleasure.

My wife and I stayed here for just one night. The staff were very welcoming and the room although fairly basic was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was also very good, excellent beef and aligot - both highly recommended.

We stayed for one night whilst touring the local area on a weekend break. The hotel room was distinctly average but the restaurant was five star! The room was fairly small and was fairly bland - more like a chain hotel than a locally run establishment. It was adequate and everything was clean and tidy, but didn't really stand out as somewhere you would seek out to stay. The restaurant couldn't be more different. It was a fantastic experience sampling the local delights. I committed heresy as a non-cheese-eater so I didn't get to try the house Aligot, but from the responses of those around me it was first rate. I did go for the beef, which was excellent. All the food is full-on and it is easy to eat too much. Everything I tried was good, and out three course meal kept me going well into the next day. The restaurant was full so the service wasn't the quickest, but that did at least give us some time to digest.

Best beef I can say in France !!! Worth the trip ! Restaurant always full, do not call for starter as the beef and the aligot are a must and you will be full, if have some room, order cheese tray, they bring it to your table and you serve yourself.
