We had a very enjoyable stay at La Lauzeraie. Carole, who was our point of contact, communicated well prior to our booking and leading up to our stay. Once we arrived she was very helpful in showing us around our rooms, as well as recommending places to eat and to visit. We had great talks with her each morning over breakfast about the area. The rooms were large and very clean, each (we rented three rooms) with its own spacious bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and had views out onto a very pleasant garden. The breakfasts were delicious. There is a small kitchen for guests to use, as well as a pool and spa. Its set in a very picturesque garden and is about a 15min walk from the centre of town or a few minutes in the car. It really was a very enjoyable place to stay, made even better by Carole and her family. Can not recommend it enough.…
Always looking for a nice value for money spot, this is one of our favorites. beautiful location, very nice house, most sympathic hosts, perfect breakfast, splendid swimming pool for our kids... this is the ideal spot to relax and discover the Auvergne region! We will come back here, that is for sure!
it was peaceful, friendly and warm natural welcome place. it is not 5 start hotel where you find 24 security however in that lovely town, you do not need that. it is very peaceful spa town, horse riding, swimming, cooking, walking, hiking is possible. when the weather is good, you will have beautiful french breakfast at Terrace enjoying sun and watching fountain. poepla makes the place better and Carole makes the place marvelous! i would love to visit there again.
My husband and I stayed for one night in September at La Lauzeraie. This B&B is beautiful and we had a wonderful stay. We wished we had stayed longer -- here’s why: --The grounds are expansive, beautifully landscaped, with quiet paths to stroll on and chairs for relaxing on the lawn or veranda. --The house is spacious, tastefully decorated, and has a billiard room, exercise room with various equipment, and small heated indoor pool (don’t forget to bring a bathing suit). There are also facilities for guests to prepare and enjoy an easy supper. --Our room was immaculate, quiet, and very comfortable, with high quality linens, toiletries, bath fixtures, and large window overlooking the back garden. (Our room—“Sancy”—was on the first floor; but most rooms are on the second floor and require walking up a flight of stairs.) --The manager, Carole, is delightful—attentive, accommodating, helpful, and enthusiastic. She prepares a memorable breakfast, too, which we enjoyed on the veranda overlooking the front garden and fountain. --It is an easy drive to the nearest town of La Bourboule, a charming town built alongside the Dordogne River. The town is probably best known for its thermal springs, although it also now boasts a restaurant that was a finalist in an all France pizza-making contest. --There is an equestrian center on the adjacent property, for those of you who ride. --This region of Central France (Auvergne) has interesting opportunities for outdoor exploration, including hiking amidst a chain of extinct volcanoes, including the most famous Puy de Dome. The only downsides are: --Although La Lauzeraie is a quiet, idyllic repose, it is a bit off the beaten track. That is why we chose it. If you want to stay in a bustling, busy location, this isn’t it. --You will need a car, both to reach the B&B and to go to La Bourboule.…
Quiet, serene, comfortable, luxurious... Those are just a few adjectives to describe my wonderful, one night stay at this one of a kind chambre. Everything was of perfection. My room was large, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was big and up to date. Natalie and Jean were perfect hosts making sure I had every comfort. I enjoyed an evening dinner with them that was fantastic and will not soon forget their hospitality and friendship. Due to its location, this chambre has a country-side feeling but is close to the spa town of La Bourboule. I hope to return some day and stay longer. Thank you to my hosts for my stay.
