Stayed for 4 nights in this amazing hotel and almost everything was perfect. The staff was really nice and deligent. We stayed in the comfort room which was huge and extremely comfortable! Extraordinary breakfast and dinner! Amazing wine selection! Only 2 things..wifi was bad and bedroom did not have bathtub only shower..

Dear M.Futins, We thank you for your review, we are pleased to see you really enjoyed your stay with us. Just to let you know, since your departure, we have fixed the Wifi network in order to be faster in all the Hotel areas. About the bathtub, we do have some rooms with it, if you wish to get one next time, please feel free to ask it to our reception team in advance and we will do our best to make it possible. We hope to welcome you very soon for more good memories in Le Roi Théodore****.

No way in my opinion this is a 4 star hotel. It's very average at best. 1. The building design is very aged and not thought through: the pool is in the middle with all the rooms facing it. Everyone can see everyone unless you keep your blinds shut all day. No privacy. No view of fantastic Corsican mountains or sea. You can really tell this hotel has never seen a designer! Plastic grass?! The style is like an old people's home. 2. Very far from the seaside- you have to drive. 3. Very poor 60s/70s refurbishment of the rooms. To be fair they look like they haven't been refurbished since hotel opened. Old furniture, all rooms have this very stale awful damp smell, similar to old people's smell. Aircon didn't solve the smell problem. 4. All staff at the hotel are women ( bar one teenage boy at breakfast). Hence if you need help with carrying your luggage, etc- you have to do it yourself, unless you give it to the 20 y.o. girls working there! 5. When asked at reception to be recommended some places of interest- they couldn't recommend anything except for 2 nearest beaches. 6. "spa" and "gym" are so tiny, it's ridiculous, they really are pushing the "AND SPA" bit in their name. 7. I wouldn't mind all of the above, if the rates per room were <£200. ( i.e.- no more than 50£) But at the asking price it was a rip-off!

The check-in process was easy as the staff walked us to our room and gave us the low down. Rooms were dated, clean and work has been done to update. Beds were comfortable as well. The WIFI was virtually non-existent ... service was sporadic at best and poor when connected. The area in and around the pool was nice as there were comfy lounges, with curtains - this was a nice feature. We found the restaurant to be, while the food was OK - it was way overpriced. The location of the hotel was mostly stand alone, as in no other food restaurants, cafe's or places were nearby, and as such we felt the hotel leveraged this with their high priced menu. I mean ... a cheese tray with 4-6 small slices costing 9 euros is ridiculous. Overall, our visit to Porto-Vecchio was disappointing. We did find Bonifacio to be delightful and would in the future stay there in lieu of Porto-Vecchio.

Le Roi Theodore boasts the ultimate in refinement and exquisite Italian high design. It’s a comfortable, yet sophisticated hotel with gorgeous interiors, luxurious swimming pools, a relaxing wellness spa, fantastic leisure facilities, and one of the island's most beguiling restaurants, namely Le Regina. Upon our arrival at Le Roi Theodore, Russian-speaking manager Victoria met us at the reception and showed us around. I think that it is wonderful that the hotel provides a small tour with someone who speaks your native language. Although I had discovered Le Roi Theodore using a Virtual tour and watching the video about the place on the official website before our arrival, I gathered some really interesting facts about Porto Vecchio from the locals. Le Roi Theodore is ideally situated in the south of Corsica, at the gates of Porto Vecchio, and is the perfect gateway for exploring the local sights. It occupies a sweet spot just far enough out of the town centre to feel separate but just close enough to feel perfectly convenient. Breakfast is served until a very civilized at 10 a.m. You could spend a week here and not try everything: from the different types of cakes, orange cake, homemade pancakes, to the gourmet french cheese and Corsican honey, you are spoiled for choice here! The restaurant stays open from noon until 22 p.m. They also serve the most addictive petits roulés de gambas et aubergines, œuf mollet, morceaux de Turbot, rémoulade au haddock, all served in a cozy dining room with a view over the swimming pool – the perfect setting to sample the new wave of French wines. The wine list complements the dishes perfectly with a superb choice of bottles from the different regions of Corsica. The chef uses local ingredients in the most delicious combinations you could ever imagine. Don't forget to try inventive desserts provided by talented pastry chef, Antony Dagorn! This hotel is certainly an effortless and elegant mix of antique and modern, and is the ideal destination if you’re a luxury traveler. Don’t be surprised to find it full of returnees: guests have a habit of making their way back here whenever they can. Le Roi Theodore gives you a feeling of being in a peaceful oasis of breezy elegance. You will most certainly appreciate the huge pools, manicured gardens, the luxury spa, and fine-dining restaurant, and the kind of discreet professional service you’d expect in a hotel that used to host the most honored guests. I would highly recommend this hotel as the place to stay if you need some peace and quiet and wish to experience the French hustle only when you feel like it. I’d be more than happy to come back to this charming hotel (and will definitely do it in the nearest future).

The personalized welcome and visit of this establishment is very nice! The people make you feel really welcome and do everything to make you comfortable. The premium room is spacious and has a balcony over looking at the garden. The bathroom has everything but watch out for flooding! as only a small piece of glass separate the shower from the rest of the bathroom. Shame that in a four stars hotel, they is no milk given with the coffee/tea maker... The evening staff are lovely! Well done!! Again, shame that in a 4 stars hotel, if you wish over your stay, just have a pick nick in your room, you have to really negotiate to have couple plates, knife and forks... The restaurant serves you a very very nice meal and the chef likes obviously to cook and prepare fresh products to make you a delicious meal. The outside pools are lovely but not heated! if you wish to swim while it might be sunny, wear a polo-neck jumper or go into the dark heated pool downstairs. They offer massage services but very very expensive. Better at the beach!

We have had such a lovely stay over the last few days here. The smiling and helpful welcome, facilities, breakfast, room (we had a 'comfort' one) are really good. We were a little worried as we had read a couple of odd reviews about this hotel, but from our experience this was one of the best hotels anywhere we have stayed at for the money. The location is literally a few mins drive from Porto Vecchio, which we knew as we had done the research (some haven't it seems). Being just outside is a benefit as there is plenty of parking and more space generally. The pools are great, especially the indoor one as nice and warm. The welcome and smiles from all the staff who really wanted our stay to be super was evident. A great hotel and would definitely recommend to others!

Situated at the south-western corner of beautiful Corse you think this will be the perfect place for your holiday. However, while driving through the gate you think you have got the wrong address and you feel you have come to the wrong place. The hotel is located along a busy road in the middle of an industry area outside Porto Vecchio. Nevertheless, behind the wall it is a nice hotel surrounding a beautiful pool and pool area. All is fine until you try to log on the WIFI in your suite and realize how poor the quality is. The staff in the reception was not very helpful when pointing out this. The gym is a limited equipped room where you feel it is crowded when you are two doing workout at the same time. Some of the machines need service. The cleaning is good, but look out for insects running away when you turn on the light. Whether it was the noxious gray silverfish (Tenolepisma longicaudata) or less harmful silverfish (Lepisma saccharina) I found in the room, I could not tell. The restaurant is nice but the food (dinner) is overpriced. The competition is however limited since you have to drive or walk 2.5 km to find another decent restaurant in the area.

The hotel staff were very kind, we were welcomed with a lot of warmth, great room and calm. Congratulations for the hotel restaurant, excellent food and presented very nicely. Access to the hotel is easy and is close to many beautiful areas: Palombaggia beach, Rondinara beach, the wonderful city of Bonifacio. I strongly recommend this hotel.
