Conveniently located in the centre of town. Clean room, good size for one person. Feel safe and well accommodated as solo traveler. Dining, shopping and sightseeing within short walking distance. Very reliable WiFi.
Belvedere is a simple hotel but with a great location, and with a pricing that makes it a good choice if you're on a budget. Rooms are basic, but with a great view over the port and the beach. The staff was service-minded and helpful, despite the language barrier, and our stay was altogether pleasant. My one complaint is the same as for most Corsican hotels - there are nowhere to hang wet towels to dry, and as Calvi has a beach on easy walking distance from the city centre this especially inconvenient.
+: Location is great, our room was clean but very small. -: Our advice is not to accept a room on the ground floor because of the noise from the hallways which still woke us up at night despite wearing earplugs. The hotel falsly advertised with a multilingual reception yet most of the staff spoke very little English.
My husband, sister and I stayed two nights at the Belvedere and were very satisfied with the hotel. The room was adequate, had two windows, a large bathroom, view to the Citadel, which was a block away, and is located very near the restaurant area. It was right what we needed to get to know the town and its environs on foot. We even walked to the beaches. Breakfast was not included in the price but there are plenty of places in the vicinity to buy a coffee and pastry for a continental breakfast. Staff was attentive and everything worked well. Bathroom has a shower instead of tub, and closet space was scarce but sufficient for a short stay even for three adults.
We just needed one night in Calvi. With the Booking.com promotion we got a room for 48 euros, which is kinda cheap in this touristic spot. A double bed and hot shower was the only thing that we needed and definitely got! One funny fact is the sign in the entrance saying that the hotel provides service in French, Italian and English. However, the receptionist didn't know any English. It wasn't hard to communicate though since a basic conversation is needed when entering a hotel.
