Delightful, querky, hotel and restaurant in the hillside village of Roure 06420. Chef very adventurous in 'fine dining' and fairly successful at it. Owners very keen to provide all that you could want. One or two details missing, but nothing really important. Expect a rambling cottage over several floors equipped with quality fittings. Views are stunning, particularly from the dining...

After miles of wonderful mountain walks and a Michelin-starred dinner, this auberge is a delightful and friendly place to stay (don't even think of driving down the mountain at night after sampling their fine wines!) The accommodation is simple - and appropriately and correctly priced - and serves a good wholesome breakfast. It is an ideal, clean and very comfortable...

After first staying at Le Robur in 2012 I was looking forward to returning and our 2 nights here were definitely the highlight of a week spent touring this part of the Alps. Pauline and Christophe run a simply brilliant establishment which is has a spectacular location, comfortable rooms and amazing food. You can feel the care and attention that...

Located in a beautfull small village above the Tinée valley, it is worth the 9 kilometeres climbed with the bicycles! The rooms are very nice and calm, clean and comfortable. The restaurant is excellent, and deserves its 1 Michelin star. The view is stuning, and the staff and owners absolutely lovely

We stayed two nights in the hotel and had two evening meals and breakfasts. The hotel is simple but comfortable and the views were spectacular (make sure you ask for a room overlooking the valley). The food was fantastic. I am not a "foodie" type and thought I might find a michelin starred restaurant too fussy but each course was...

We have been visiting restaurant le Robur in Roure e few times over some years now as it has been always one of the best places to be in the back country! Coming back to dine at Christophe's place after he was honered a Michelin star a couple of months ago was still a very pleasant surprise to us as...

After an awesome, scenic, slightly terrifying drive up the valley, it was astonishing to find this gorgeous small hotel perched on the mountainside in the tiny village of Roure. Location and views were stunning. We stayed three nights and hiked every day, for example to the Refuge de Longon and beyond. The hiking was world class, and then we ate...

During our trip to Provence we wanted to experience the mountains so headed north from Nice to Roure. The drive is beautiful, very scenic with the last five kms along a narrow mountain road as one ascends to the quaint, albeit small village of Roure. The auberge enjoys the most wonderful panoramic views down the valley - simply spectacular. Our...

This is a tiny inn, far up in the mountains behind Nice. The drive is beautiful. Once there, the welcome is warm in this husband and wife run restaurant with rustic and tasteful ski lodge decor and the most astounding views of the mountains below. The food was, quite simply, fabulous. Locally sourced produce was used and the producers named...

We wanted a special place to stay near the Nice airport, away from the resorts and commercialism of the coast. This was perfect! The drive there was breathtaking, the little town of Roure is charming, and the Auberge is a gem. The innkeepers are friendly and welcoming, with high aesthetic standards. Our views -- from both our room and our...
