The rooms are little small but decorated as viking, the showers are excellent, they are very comfortable. The place is practical and beautiful. The place to dine is fine and have excellent view. The service is very good. Please go there you never regret it!! You can take the fjord cruise there and go to flam or anywhere from there.

The location is absolutely amazing, in a valley surrounded by waterfalls and mountains but the service was very poor for the price we paid! The wifi wasn't working and they didn't do anything to fix it. We had to do the flight check in and we couldn't. The staff was unfriendly. Overpriced but wonderful nature

There are three types of rooms in this hotel: viking-themed rooms, regular motel rooms with a private bathroom and rooms with a shared bathroom. I stayed in a regular room with a private bathroom. These rooms are located in a motel-style building that is a short walk away, and not in the building with the sod roof that you'll probably...

I will always remember sitting on a bench outside the Gudvangan Fjortell gazing at the beautiful mountains, banded with waterfalls, dropping steeply into the still water. While I got a nice view of the fjord from the ferry, spending a few days at one of the most beautiful places in the world was even more meaningful to me. I took...

Coming from the fjord ferry this is the only option in Gudvangen. We were upgraded from twin room with shared bathroom to the camping hut. It was clean but very simple, and for sure in need of some updating. Wi-Fi was not good. But the view was breathtaking. Restaurant was good, staff very slow and not so friendly. The front desk...

This is what happens when a place has no competition and purely rely upon its surroundings. The Gudvangen Fjordell is not a hotel, but something in between a motel and a camping hut. They have a wonderful website, but their Viking rooms are just a very small percentage of their rooms. We were put in two family rooms away from...

This hotel at the edge of the Fjord was a great place to relax. The staff were great (even charged my cell phone for me when I had forgotten my charger). The beds were comfy, but if light bothers you, bring an eye shade. Complimentary breakfast was filling.

Maybe we didn't do enough research, but we felt the hotel descriptions and photos were somewhat misrepresentative. There are two hexagonal, turf roofed buildings with with great views of the waterfalls all around, but is not where we stayed. The "hotel" is really part of the very popular Gudvangen to Flam ferry operation. All the tour buses disgorge loads and...

Gudvangen fjordtell is a good hotel. The rooms are well kept, in a viking-like style. The restaurant is good too, but like the hotel it self is is a bit overpriced. However the season lasts only half-a-year. Gudvangen ia actually a small ferry harbour and almost no settlement at all.

Yes, the location is spectacularly beautiful but I read the other reviews before booking and it seems I stayed in a different place. I guess most of the other reviewers did not stay in the old "Tingstova" Annex in a tiny basic room with shared shower downstairs and toilets along the corridor. I knew I'd get less than the best...
