Unique hotel! Lovely Viking themed rooms get very warm because of glass ceilings...you’ll need eyeshades for sleeping in summer.
The Viking community across the bridge is worth a visit The restaurant could use some improvements: employees aren’t friendly (poor attitudes towards customers)

The good: We arrived at Gudvangen Fjordtell at 1800 and it was quiet as could be, though I noticed a large number of tour bus parking spaces. My Viking room (#1) was simple but comfortable with a powerful shower, lightning-fast wifi and a gorgeous waterfall...More
Celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary with a short weekend getaway (we live 3 hours away in Bergen) was spur of the moment as the weather was great. Check in is easy and our room was ready on time. It's light with a skylight roof that...More
I think this is the only hotel in Gudvangen which is a special little village. It’s very peaceful and surrounded by high cliffs and with good views down the fjord. I recommend an overnight stay to really get the best out of your visit.

Hi Kimberly, when I booked this accommodation online I was given the options to choose room with breakfast and room without breakfast so we went with the breakfast option as there are no other hotels in that area to have breakfast especially as we wake up first thing next morning. Regarding your question about "the car is left at the ferry" can you explain what you mean by that but if I understand your question correctly you can take your car on the ferry for the ride to say Flam but you cant leave it on the ferry overnight. There is heaps of parking at the Gudvangen Fjordtell accommodation for you to park overnight. Hope this answers your queries.
