Big Bend Park is an amazing place. The Maverick RV park is a welcome oasis from the heat with its refreshing pool. Everything is clean and well-appointed in the recreation/restroom facility. Easy to walk to the golf course area for a meal, as well. Definitely...More
Our suite was large and very well appointed. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Gorgeous views! The on site spa is available by appointment. Zip lining in a nearby canyon is available. The best of the Big Bend!
Stayed in the Maverick RV Ranch Park. I was told I couldn't borrow a blanket from Lajitas Golf Resort. First time RV travelers. Tried to find a blanket to buy. Nearest town is 2 hours away. Red River Outfitter guys were awesome!Friendly and very helpful....More
Big Bend is one of the best kept secrets in Texas and partly because it is so far away and in places shares a border with Mexico. The idea of a resort in such a remote location, and a golf course in the Chihuahuan desert...More

BBNP is about 20miles/32kms East of Lajitas; 17 miles/27kms East on TX170 to Study Butte/TX118; turn right, go 3 miles/5kms to West entrance station. Depending upon time of year, nothing will be available for overnighting in BBNP and you’ll be a day-tripper. The closest accommodation is in Terlingua-Study Butte; next closest is Lajitas; after that, there is the very excellent/very remote (you have to go North on TX118 21kms/19miles) Longhorn Ranch Motel (432.371.2133) with superb rooms, RV Park and refreshingly brisk pool, and the exquisite TiVo’s Restaurant (definitely call ahead: 432.372.2133). Further still, I’ve stayed at the World’s most unique “La Loma Del Chivo” hostel in Marathon, the Pecan Grove RV Park in Alpine and the Paisano Pass picnic/safety rest area (US67/90).
