We stayed in this hotel as part of our hiking tour of Tuscany. Volterra is a great place to stay and the hotel Locanda is right in the heart of the village. Our room was a good size with beautiful windows opening onto the street. Our bathroom was a little odd. There was a heavy door(almost like a fire door)...

Dear Jennifer B, Thank you very much for your review. We are sorry for the "heavy doors" of your room and for the bad cappuccino! You must come once (or twice!) more, so we can remedy! With Our Best Regards.

Our hiking/walking trip to Italy included a two-night stay in Volterra at this hotel. It was a perfect choice, both the city and the hotel. We especially appreciated that Volterra is "less-traveled" meaning that it was NOT loaded with tourists, making it ideal for a more authentic Italian experience. There is a lot to see in Volterra, and the city...

We stayed at the Hotrl La Locanda during our Rick Steve's trip. The room was large and the bathroom the biggest we had in Italy. The room offered two windows that opened to the street below. We were on the third floor. Overall the hotel was extremely good for an ancient city. This hotel was more than expected and we...

It is close to everything and not too far from the parking lot outside the walls. Our room was clean and amazingly large although a bit worn looking. Excellent price. Great value!

We stayed two nights in this well-run hotel. La Locanda is located in the charming hilltown of Volterra. Our room was lovely, as was the staff. The breakfast offerings were both varied and delicious.

The Hotel La Locanda is well located in the small town of Voltera. It is an easy walk to anywhere in the city. The hotel is clean and well kept. Our room was bigger than most other rooms we had on our trip. Our bathroom was interesting, It was fairly new and included a bidet, and a computerized whirlpool tub....

The starting point is - Volterra is a stunning small hilltop city, with completely fabulous views in virtually all directions. It has a number of attractions worth visiting, and is a centre of craft in alabaster - many shops selling many impressive artefacts, vases, lamps etc. The city should be visited - and is worth staying a few days. La...

We stayed two nights at the Hotel La Locanda. It is on one of the main streets of Volterra, just inside the city gates, near two parking lots. It was a very comfortable and pretty room with a patio outside of our back door. It was very clean and the staff were helpful. I would stay there again.

I am in room #301 as I write this---a nice sized room that faces the street with a whirlpool bath. It is warm and stuffy and I dread the no win choice I must make tonight on opening the windows----the cool night air with noise or steamy warm silence. We had stayed in room #303 for the past 2 nights--the...

The hotel is an easy walk from the bus stop and rooms have free wifi, fridges, aircon and kingsized beds. It was over priced at 104 euros a night , by far the dearest hotel in our 6 week European trip. Some of the staff were rather offhand and had difficulty with English which is not what you expect in...

The hotel la locanda is situated in the historical centre of the town.we are in proximity to the roman theater and to the porta fiorentina.our hotel is new and has been converted from an ancient monastery of nuns.the former owner of this palace, in the second half of 1700s, was anton filippo giachi, historically and culturally famous for his studies of etruscan history.in remembrance of him, you can find today a memorial plaque over the entrance of the hotel.
