This 14th century hotel is a gem of a hotel, just through the gate but close enough to the hub of the town. We were with friends of a walking holiday with Inn Travel so everything is pre-booked by them. The rooms were spotless, clean, toiletries in the bathroom and a hairdryer. The mattress and pillows are firm but we...

We stayed in Volterra for five days and had Hotel San Lino as our base. In an hour drive you´ll reach the sea, Pisa, Firenze and Siena. Just 30 km away is the fantastic town of San Gimignano. The hotel has a really good breakfast (included) and nice pool area. The hotel is within the town wall its the best...

With the luxury of added modern day comforts this hotel still reflects the charm and graciousness of the Tuscany culture and architecture. The bonus is the terrace for celebratory gatherings or a quiet respite to enjoy the sweeping Tuscan valley views. Volterra is a medieval walled city built high upon a rocky plateau and to stroll along winding cobbled laneways...

We stayed here for 7 nights and, especially for the price, were very pleased with the hotel. The staff is very professional and were warm and welcoming when we arrived. The elevator, like many in Europe's old buildings, is very small. it will fit 4 people but don't plan to bring luggage in at the same time. The room was...

The location is great, just inside the city walls and within walking distance of all the sites of Volterra and good restaurants. Like stepping back in time when you walk into the lobby and general downstairs space as lots of antiques and classic decor, rooms more standard and modern. Weather wasn't good enough for us to go in the pool,...

Lovely room with view over a pool at the back. Places to sit outside although hotel is within the walls. Good WiFi and no hassle over access. Reasonable size room with the usual facilities. Reasonably quiet although breakfast area was below our window. We were on half board and the restaurant was OK but would probably opt to explore the...

We booked this hotel because it had on site parking (booked with the hotel prior to our stay). We found the hotel extremely well located, comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was more than adequate but, the proximity of cafes, meant that we could join the locals for a breakfast cappuccino and pastry and watch the...

The Hotel San Lino is located close to one of the main entrances into the walled city of Volterra. A nice benefit was being able to drive our rental car into the city and park in a private garage very close to the hotel. We had two twin-bedded rooms for three nights, and enjoyed the pool area and the views...

Very pleasant hotel. Very clean and pleasant staff, all of whom spoke some sort of English as we didn't speak any Italian at all. Pool was great and had it to ourselves most the time but the only problem with the pool was that the sun went down behind the hotel by 7pm. Air con was pretty poor but at...
