We travelled here by car for a much needed holiday at the beginning of September. Our original holiday was cancelled due to Coronavirus so we replaced it with a 2 week holiday in Hotel President.

We could not have made a better choice. From the moment we entered the Hotel we were spoiled, cosseted and made to feel as if we were a much loved, much cherished member of the family. The safety protocols that have been put in place were superb, and we felt totally safe, from the moment we entered the hotel.

Our room was a joy. The sheets were changed every day along with the towels; and there was always a bottle of cold water waiting for us, when we returned to our room after a day of sunshine. We had Room 303 with a double balcony so were able to enjoy the superb views of the beach and marvellous sunsets. The bed was really comfortable and with both balcony doors open, the room had a lovely breeze running through it. With heat cancelling electric shades; it made the room remain cool without the aid of the air-conditioner. There is a TV with a full Sky package including Films - but we never used it as we come on holiday to get away from this.

The Hotel is situated on a very busy main road; but you are only aware of this when you open the balcony door; otherwise the room is totally soundproofed except for sirens that could pass by.

Aside from the comfort and Italian elegance of the rooms, what makes this hotel really special from our point of view, is the staff. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. We were treated superbly by everyone; and the food is just out of this world. Truly Al a Carte. Beautifully presented, freshly prepared and being served with Italian Panache by Franco and the restaurant staff was a delight. Being greeted each morning by the smiles of Daniel and Marchello, set the scene for another perfect day.

But our personal little star was Sarah. Not a day, not a meal went by, that she was not serving with grace, aplomb, and personal touches that just made our stay that little bit nicer.

We totally loved this hotel and its personnel and if it wasn't for Covid-19 we would never have had this experience. So, THANK YOU EVERYONE who made our holiday so perfect. We cannot say how much we want to come back; but this time, we will bring my Brother and his wife whom I am sure will love it as much as we did.

If I have forgotten anyone writing this report, please excuse me, but his holiday will stay in our memories for so many different reasons on so many different levels for a very long time.

Do vist and stay here if you ever get the opportunity.

Just spent 13 nights at this lovely intimate hotel. The rooms were very clean and all the staff that we encountered throughout our stay were always polite, courteous and extremely helpful. It is also in a great location with a large sandy beach across the road where you have free access to two of the beaches and get a free towel to use and access to two deckchairs and a parasol. If, you want a sunbed however that is 10 euros per day. As the world is so big I never visit places twice however this one I would return to if I ever decided to return to that area of Italy. We stayed b&b and the breakfasts were more than sufficient with a really good choice of items which never leave you hungry.

We stayed four nights at the hotel in a room with two balconies with sea view. It is more expensive but it is worth the money. The room is clean but the bed quite hard. The breakfast is very good you order what you want and they have a good selection of fruit, eggs, bread and sweets. You can buy access to Bagno Irene beach club in front of the hotel for 10 EUR per day, including two chairs and an umbrella. If you want a sun bed you have to pay additional 5 EUD per bed. The hotel provide you with free beach towels. Parking can be made at the street for 8 EUR per day - buy the ticket at the hotel. It can be hard to find at parking spot.

Great hotel for so many times, over and over again.

At first we where afraid of travelling to the hotel, actually we were afraid of travelling to Italy due to the virus.

But my god are we happy we came over. Not many tourists are around but the hotel took measures which will blow your mind.

Breakfast à la carte, buffet with facemask and assistance of personnel, plexiglass everywhere, alcohol gel at every entrance, no airco but open windows, face masks and gloves available on request, temperature is taken of everyone going inside the hotel,...

Well there is nothing they could do more. Also the Italians thought things true. Facemasks are very common and even obliged in shops.

Everyone is respectfull which explains the descending numbers in Italy.

The staff is friendly like no other.

The food is just crazy good. People should visit the restaurant of the hotel. The food is very good, as is the wine.

We would recommend the hotel to each and everyone of you.

The room has a balcony where you can sit and enjoy the view of the sea, especially at sunset. You can walk down the promenade to all cafes and restaurants, a huge Igor Mitoraj sculpture and the fishing boats I saw from my room at dawn, were selling their catch at the end of the walk. Breakfast had a wonderful variety and also a la carte.

We stayed in a superior room for 10 nights on a dinner bed and breakfast basis. The room was very comfortable with a sea view and very effective air conditioning system.
Dinner was typically Italian with an excellent choice for all 4 courses and the wine list had an array of good Italian wines to choose from. There was a superb atmosphere in the restaurant and the service provided by Elisa and Franco was absolutely fantastic, they couldn't do enough for us, the hotel management are very lucky to have two such dedicated, professional, friendly and helpful staff members running their restaurant, I hope the hotel management realise what an asset they have in their restaurant team.

The reception team is efficient and very friendly offering advice on local amenities and dealing with check-in/out very efficiently. Marcello was particularly helpful providing details of local beach clubs and arranging a late check out for us - he always had a cheery "Buongiorno" as we exited the lift each morning . Unfortunately, a junior male member of the reception team took it upon himself to reallocate our taxi which was due to take us to the airport, our taxi was actually prepaid and had arrived 50 minutes early but the debacle cost us 80 euro for a replacement taxi, the staff member became very aggressive when we advised our taxi was prepaid and he offered no apology. I have to say this behaviour was completely out of character with that we had experienced during our fantastic stay at the President but given the financial cost and stress caused by this one individual our memories of a great stay will be sullied for a long time - such a great shame!.

1st time in Viareggio and impressed with this central hotel on the beach front.

Asked for a quiet room when we booked the hotel but told as beach front hotel all noisy, we were initially placed on 1st floor above kitchen which we were not happy with, however after 5 mins a new room was found and put us further up on 4th floor which was much better…

Breakfast was amazing, continental selection buffet but also cooked breakfast on top with eggs Benedict, omelettes etc

Room itself was good however strange shower wet room which flooded a lot….

Cleaners quite loud in the mornings

The beach club subsidising was quite frustrating and although the hotel has a discounted rate with 2 clubs we chose to go to others at better rates which we thought was a bit odd.

Overall a pleasant stay

Just returned home and this was our second visit to this hotel. We love it. All the staff are just lovely and happy to help. Big thanks especially to Elisa, who is an absolute star in the restaurant, she is a fountain of local knowledge and anticipates your every need. Franco too is so lovely, although he was off ill mostly this trip, we were glad to see him back on our last day. This hotel is perfectly placed and so convenient for the train station approx 15 min walk, which makes it a good base for visiting the Tuscany area, Pisa and Lucca are approx half an hour away. If you are wanting to visit just the leaning tower etc then if you exit the train at Pisa san Rossore, not Pisa Centrale this is more convenient a short walk from the station. The hotel is clean and well kept. The food is very good and lots of choice for breakfast. Beach towels are free and it is 10 euros for a sunbed. We got one sunbed and the chairs are free, you also get an umbrella. We chose bagno Irene as the staff there are lovely also. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Oh and no need to take a hairdryer ladies as the one provided in the room is good. Thank you all for another wonderful holiday, Les and Colin xxx

Such a friendly hotel with all you need for a true Italian seaside holiday. The hotel is stylish, spotlessly clean and the breakfast has a perfect selection to fill you up for the day, including mimosa making ingredients to make it a little extra special.

The hotel provides beach towels and also works with a local beach club across the road, ask reception for more details.

Perfectly located to make full use of the promenade of Viareggio and within easy walking distant of the train station which you can hop on a train to visit Pisa, Florence or Luca with ease.

Would happily return if we were ever to visit Viareggio again, which I am sure we will as we loved it!!

Amazing hotel! Everything about it was first class. All of the staff were very friendly and professional. I had a room with a side view balcony which was lovely. The room was beautiful with a very classy bathroom. The beach was across the road and it was a quite expensive daily charge to use their facilities. At night there were plenty of restaurants to choose from along the length of the road.
Would highly recommend this hotel.

Would echo Judy's comments above - it was the same fare to Pisa as well and the service was clean and punctual. Don't forget to validate your train tickets in the machines on the platforms before you get on the train!
