no complaints , the room was LARGE and clean, the bed was good and the bathroom all OK. The decor was dated but that didn't bother me as the rest was fine. Reception was efficient and friendly. I would saty there again. The hotel is close to the main station and shops ...plenty of restaurants around that area.

Reception staff rude and homophobic. Our room was very basic and dated, no tea/coffee/kettle or fridge. Poor water pressure with shower and water temperature fluctuating to just cold after a few minutes. Just terrible.....stay elsewhere and Goodluck.

Management response:

We are sorry to read this review, usually we accept the criticism , but in this case the review it's really a lie. The gravity of this charge it's really serious, we don't accept to be called "homophobic staff" , as reviewed is derogatory and offensive, for all the Hotel Staff. Perhaps it's better for the client an heart- seraching.

Well located in Varese. Hot water took a long time to come and water pressure was not great. TV was complicated to operate. Room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. Some staff were a little rude at the beginning. Ok value.

This hotel had loçst it's glory 10 years ago but we decided to stay there as it is in the city of Varese. What a pleasant surprise to see that the rooms had been redone: no dirty, smelly carpet but wood on the floor. Good beds, spacious rooms, very clean. Will choose again. Only negative: a bit noisy both street...

I found this little gem of a city hotel a number of years ago and came back with some friends recently. The car park is secure but down a steep ramp so if your car is slow you need to take it carefully. But we took a very low car and got in. Rooms are huge with a/c and some...

We stayed here one night on the way back to Holland. The rooms are dated. For the price it is ok but it is more a three star hotel. They have a good location for the centre. Parking garage was a plus. Breakfast was horrible. This was the worst i have seen in a long time. The lady was appologising...

We stayed in Varese for one night for a break on our journey to Alba/Bra. The City hotel is close to the small but pretty Center of Varese. Staff was very friendly and helpful, room spacious and clean. Unfortunately not as modern as shown on booking.com. Breakfast was really just average. If you get a good price why not.

The hotel was clean and has large rooms. The bed were comfortable and it was quite. The only bad thing about the rooms were the noisy aircon. I had to turn it off. Being in May this was not a problem. I opened the window instead. The staff was professional and friendly. We got a good deal for one night...

To find this hotel I would recommend a sat nav. Varese is a busy city with narrow streets and an interesting one way system. We found it easily with the nav but I would not have fancied my chances without. We parked the car in the hotels basement. There are about 20 spaces but it was very quiet anyway.( 10...

Good hotel. Perfect for a night stop over. Modern rooms- excellent bathrooms. Lovely reception staff. Sky TV. Right in the centre of Varese too. Adequate breakfast (as everywhere in Italy is sadly). All you need for business or pleasure quick trip.
