Travellers' Choice
One of the most beautiful parts of the Calabrian coast, Tropea town and the Capo Vaticano area treasure the natural beauty, history and most attractive holiday resorts - those where man followed the natural landscape and where hotels and villages are hidden among generous Mediterranean vegetation. Placed literally on the beach, underneath Capo Vaticano, the village is only 30 metres from the seashore. Well developed amid trees and coastal slopes, Eden seems to be the natural part of this most exciting Calabrian coastal spot.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a lovely resort for local italian families with young children. This is not a resort for international tourists—there are many better options that provide more value for your money. The beach is beautiful, but many staff members are less than friendly, and the atmosphere feels more like an Italian summer camp. If you do not have a car you will be very bored in the evenings.

I believe that 5 stars are not enough to score our staying! - Costa degli Dei is stunning! Nothing to envy Maldives. - Apartments are new, literally touching the beach, amazing view, organised and clean. - At the restaurant the service was impeccable and the food.. wow! Freshly made pastries and cakes every morning, delicious sea food for lunch and dinner. - Great value for money. I will definitely recommend this hotel to everyone and I can't wait to come back next summer. Many compliments and see you soon. Mauro

We enjoyed the apartment in the dependence which was well equipped, located on the stunning beach and surrounded by well-kept garden. I need to praise great buffet breakfast with a lot of variety. Free shuttle from the dependence to the beach and back was a big plus. Front desk staff would be warmer and more welcomed as I had constant feeling that I bother them. Overall good experience and I can recommend this place.

We had a small apartment with a terrace with sea view. The kitchen equipment was basic, but we mostly ate in the Restaurant so this was no problem. The food was excellent and the service coped more than adequately even on the few occasions the Restaurant was nearly full. The beach was sandy and the water azure blue and emerald green, and warm, so we swam a lot every day On 2 days out of our 10 day stay a couple of small jelly fish were washed up, but no problem if one is on the alert. My sole criticism was that the internet was low speed, so they need to tackle this problem before I would return, and I requested they email me when they have successfully installed high speed internet.

Great place, crystal blue waters, friendly beach staff, great food and atmosphere. We were disappointed that we were asked to purchase swimming caps to use in the pool and all visitors were not permitted to swim in the pool without a swimming cap. We have travelled all of Europe and never been asked to wear a swimming cap in resort pools. There were lots of stinging jelly fish in the resort beach the two days we were there which enabled us to swim freely. Staff were amazing. All in all an enjoyable stay!

Overall I need to say that we had a great vacation, but there are many opportunities that could improve the experience. Pro´s: Food (4/5): Overall food in the restaurant is pretty good, prices are fair. Animation (5/5): Great team of animators, not exaggerated, funny and as well taking care of children (Mini Club) Village/Beach/Pool (4/5): Nice Village, directly at the beach. Beach is small but cosy with clean water. Nice pool, located at the upper village, need to take the shuttle from the lower village part. Con`s: Check-in/Reception (2/5): Unfriendly. You would expect to feel welcome, which was not the case. Asking for help/doing a request left a feeling of being "too demanding". Attention: Hotel Bus shuttle to the airport is not a free service but comes with costs of 200 EUR (back and forth), hence watchout when requesting as part of the booking. Very late Check in 17h/very early check out at 10h. W-LAN (2/5): pretty bad connection Appartment & Equipment (3/5): Appartment clean and comfortable, but very basic kitchen equipment, e.g. no kitchen towel, nothing to hold hot pot at the gas oven, no garbage bags, a set of 4 counted cutlery, 2 person cooking pan only etc. On top costs: sun lounger not included in price, need to rent separately, sun towels need to rent separately, "late" check-out need to pay extra. Working on the "negative" aspects could make the Eden a "true Heaven on Earth".

Very nice clean hotel, very old washer and dryer available and no help with luggage into the room which was two stories of stairs. Restaurant was wonderful and very accommodating. Beautiful beach. ask for a bottom floor when staying at the hotel.

Village Eden is a wonderful place for a family vacation, we enjoyed every bit of it. Apartments are spacious, clean, nice location and lovely surroundings with palms and gardens. Few things I would improve - shower drain doesn’t work properly so after two minutes water starts to accumulate and is impossible to drain. That means every person needs to wait about 30 minutes to use the shower again. Also the beach transfer could be a little more frequent during the afternoon. Otherwise it’s a lovely place, staff is absolutely amazing and the restaurant has the most beautiful views of the beach and the sea. Oh! And the beach is just lovely and the sea is the clearest I’ve ever seen.
