Somewhat surprised by all these carbon copy reviews raving about this place and the owners. We found them to be stiff, inflexible, and not very friendly or warm. There is a very strange dynamic in play. They were definitely put out by us having a (very mild mannered and happy) 6 month old in tow (whom they barely acknowledged) and...

We first stayed at Il Ghiottone Umbro in August 2014, we enjoyed our stay so much that we returned with three friends to enjoy a four night cookery course. This experience is one we will never forget and would 100% recommend it. Lisbeth and Thomas are fabulous hosts and we had the most amazing time. The cookery classes were very...

We stayed here on the 29th June. This is the best B&B we have experienced! Lisbeth and Thomas are the perfect hosts warmly welcoming us the moment we arrrived. The rooms are beautiful with great views and a clear touch of danish design evident throughout. We had a private cooking class which was exceptional, with recipies that we continue to...

Our family of four had a fabulous two nights at Il Ghiottone Umbro. You could not ask for a lovelier location or more thoughtful hosts. The legendary breakfasts are beyond description and kept us full all day...well, perhaps one little gelato! Make this part of your Italian adventure, you will not regret it!

This is a place of no compromise! The place and the rooms are perfectly designed with a clear touch of Danish design, they are totally clean, the service is friendly and professional, the ingredients at the cooking school are so fresh, the knives are ultra sharp, the knowledge of Italian cooking is enormous, the instruction is spot on… and I...

Lisbeth and Thomas are the perfect B&B hosts. Our small group was warmly welcomed the moment we arrived and that continued throughout our stay. Their talent at running a B&B is genius. I loved my room and everything in it, and the scenic views were stunning. Resist all urges for a midnight snack as you want to be famished for...

I have been fortunate to travel many places in the world, however, I have to say this is the #1 experience on my list! The location, view, room, and Thomas and Lisbeth all were incredible!! I will never forget the three days spent in Todi at II Ghiottone Umbro with Thomas and Lisbeth. The accommodations are beautiful and the setting felt like heaven on earth. We enjoyed the stay, the location, the view, and our new friends and hope to return again some day. The cooking class we took from Thomas and Lisbeth was fun...

We had an amazing 3 night stay at Il Ghiottone Umbro and simply cannot recommend staying here highly enough. Lisbeth and Thomas are lovely people and immediately made us feel welcome in their beautiful 18th century home which has been tastefully restored, blending old and new with a cool Scandinavian vibe throughout. We stayed in the Tower Suite which had...

After a very early flight and extremely long day (without lunch) roaming the Umbrian Hills we were warmly greeted by Thomas and Lisbeth. A restorative tea and homemade biscotti in our room was the perfect tonic before heading out to dinner in Todi. Beautifully restored, simple but comfortable rooms - extremely relaxing. Very good linen, beds, views... We were perfectly...

“any room you book is wonderful. And if you don't get to sleep there, you will still enjoy the beauty of your surroundings, the sitting area, as well as a great kitchen.”

“Outdoor stairs to all rooms which make it less suitable for people with walking problems. All rooms are very quiet. If you keep the windows open all you hear is birdsong and the wind. If you (like me) are picky when it comes to sleeping comfort, this is the place for you! Each room have their own bath/shower. The tower room is the largest, but all 3 rooms are beautifully designed and very comfortable.”
