How nice it was to stay at this lovely hotel in the heart of the wonderful city of Spoleto! As soon as I got in the lounge I immediately perceived a nice firendly relaxed atmosphere and I couldn't help but thinking finally an hotel which combines tradition with a friendsip and laid back approach. The room was spacious, full of...

A fellow traveler in Bologna recommended visiting the Hotel Dei Duchi in Spoleto as a convenient stopover in the historic Umbrian city. The hotel is modern and convniently located within easy walking distance of the city center, yet quietly overlooking a forested valley. There is a small parking lot out front and a very attentive valet who is a delight...

The hotel was recomended to me by a friend and it was great as they said. Everyone working at the hotel was as gracious as possible...always going the extra mile to make my stay the best possible. The breakfast was the best I have experienced in the area and the one dinner I had in the hotel was excellent. The...

Spoleto is a lovely little town in Central Italy in between Florence and Rome which I visited in June of 2007. Staying there is like going back to the Middle Ages. I had a very good time spending two days at the Hotel dei Duchi, where the people were friendly and cooperative. I occupied a very spacious room with a...

There are many things to praise about this hotel. I stayed there for two weeks in late April and my room, apparently in the basement (downstairs from the reception hall) actually looked out from about a two-storey height on to the ancient Roman theatre. The chef was excellent. In the two weeks I did not have the same meal twice,...

My husband and I booked this hotel at the last minute while on vacation in Rome. We arrived by train and a quick local shuttle up the hill. What a pleasant surprise. The hotel was a small, intimate place in a perfect location, just off the main square in the center of town. The staff gave us a warm welcome...

A more modern hotel in a very old town but with nice views from rooms and dining room. We had a room with a nice balcony overlooking the patio. There was a big deck for gathering and viewing the countryside. The room was quite large for Italy and the bathroom was nice. Breakfast was included and was very good. I...
