I had a wonderful time staying in Grand Hotel Regina while participating a meditation camp. The meals were fantastic.... and great staff, especially William, he made extra effort to help me as I have a vegan/ gluten free diet. I would love to recommend other travelers there and return there again!
Situated in the central square, this lovely old hotel reeks of history from every brick. Fabulous staff, with very clean rooms. Newly renovated bathrooms, double glazed, free wi-fi, comfy bed. Excellent service, generous breakfast. Air-con.
Wonderful breakfast with fresh fruit, pastries, meats, juices, and a friendly staff. We had a group of 22 folks. All enjoyed the atmosphere and food. The town is inviting with lots of shopping and sightseeing options. We enjoyed our stay.
After two nights I couldn’t take it anymore. While the stay has some comedic value, it wore on my patience. The random guy who unlocked room and walked in. How’d have a key? Find out later. Then there was the breakfast missing the hot dishes. When the Asian tour group left, they retrieved the dishes from there. Egg’s looked pretty picked over and cold. Then the review to the Hotel. When I returned from a days work, tired and jet lagged, they wanted to know why I was critical. I told them. After some discussion, the random guy shows up in jeans, tennis shoes and t-shirt. Oh, he’s our maintenance guy. No badge, no uniform, just some guy. Why did he need to be in the room at 7:30? Because he went to the wrong room. Isn’t that what we read about in newspaper articles as to how people break into hotel rooms? “So sorry”. Then the noise begins. This clicking noise echoing in the room from somewhere in the hotel. Sounds like someone in high heels constantly walking around. Followed by a rolling sound like a bowling alley upstairs. At 4:00 AM starts the TV set a couple of rooms away. Loud. SomeItalian shouting about something on the TV. I request to leave. “We will upgrade your room to a higher level.” I cave. They assure me parking will be OK. it’s not. There is no parking. Reviews talk about good sound insulation, like saying, “Good running water.” Their guests must regularly sleep at bus stations or its hotel staff overcompensating. …
The staff, the owner, all friendly. Good breakfasts, great location. Spas and train station a short walk away. Central to the main streets. And only about an hour from Milan by train via Fidenza. Very easy to reach. So go there, enjoy the spas and the location.
