First, let me say that 4 stars is very generous for the overly basic accommodation. The rooms are Spartan and the shower is minimally functional and possibly the smallest I've ever seen. They've even got rid of the breakfast that they used to serve. It really is "just a bed". But... the location just doesn't get any better. Take the...

Stayed here because it had air-con, which worked fine. The place was clean enough but there's no bar or real community space to meet other backpackers. The rooms were fine but with minimal electric outlets, not enough for everyone and far away from most of the beds so you are unable to charge your phone throughout the night. Also there...

This place is less of a backpacker, more of a youth hostel. It's totally fine to stay at but really nothing special. They don't really have breakfast and no one at reception after 8pm. But it's a good budget option in a lovely little town. Note that if u arrive by car, u need to park in the village and...

The location is the only thing you get here. There is no common area, no kitchen, no facilities to have a cup of tea/coffee. The staff is not helpful at all, when asked they told me the info stand from PortoVenere opened next day in the morning. The price is OK for the location, but if you are a solo...

The hostel was a little hard to find, the signage is minimal and if you aren't looking out for it you'll definitely miss it. For future travelers, head up towards the grand hotel and it's behind that :) For Porto Venere, it's a great location and has a great view. To get there you have to catch a bus or...

Perfect place to stay if you are on a budget. Had a room for two people with a private bathroom. Receptionist was super nice, the bed and sheets were clean and most important the hostel has a good location. We were on a road trip and left the car at the via Olivo car park (maybe 2min bus ride, return...

I stayed there one night comeing from La Spezia and travelling on to Cinque Terre. I had a double room for 80 €/night. Was really OK. Bathroom could have been cleaner but OK. They have free Wifi at the nice reception area and a machine for snacks and beverages. Some rooms have a really great view. Would recommend it.

Portovenere is a very small town, the hostel is on the top of a hill so there's an incredible view of the buildings and pier area. We stayed in a 6 person room and the room was extremely clean and spacious with a desk and very large lockers. The beds were decently spaced out and there were big windows that...

The first and foremost advantage of this hostel is its great location. It took us just two minutes to get to it from the bus stop. The ferry stops nearby as well. The views from the hall window are really stunning, though those from the rooms are quite plain. The first room I got was actually small, with beds standing...

It takes some time to get to the hostel but it is very well located, clean and has a decent breakfast. The customer service was very nice. You will have to wake up early to get to the other islands and be on time to take the bus back since it is not located in one of the main islands...
