From the warm reception we received from the desk clerk, Ilaria, to the very comfortable room with windows overlooking the Duomo, you could not have a better stopping off spot in Orvieto. Orvieto like many of the hill top towns is best visited early or late to avoid the day trip crowds.

We stayed in this hotel at the end of our driving holiday before embarking on our cruise. What a wonderful location on the town square with the magnificent cathedral right in front of you. Car parking is in a small area off the square and costs about 10€ overnight. The staff were very friendly, efficient and courteous and you couldn't... More

This is the perfect spot to spend a night or two to get a real feel for Orvieto. It looks out onto the Piazza Duomo, has nearby public parking, is quiet even during the passeggiata hours, and the staff is super pleasant. What more could one want. Our room (24) had a gorgeous view of the piazza and the duomo.... More

I remembered this hotel from a previous family trip over 20 years ago. This time I was traveling alone and decided to choose again Hotel VIrgilio for a 3 nights stay to visit not just the beautiful Orvierto, but my father's birthplace Montefiascone and the incredible Civitá di Bagnoregio (not to be missed!!). My single room Anchise was just perfect... More

The staff here is very pleasant, hotel is clean, ideally located, breakfast included, shopping and restaurants in walking distance. Only drawback is hearing the church bells often and if room in back can really hear people sounds from outside.

We stayed 2 nights, very quiet. Location by Duomo was great, although nothing is very far in this town!! Room and bathroom small but clean. Staff was extremely helpful in answering questions and arranging transportation. We found this a great place to stay in Orvieto. Breakfast was probably our only letdown, it was just average.

Loved this place. In the center of the plaza by the Domo. Central to everything there. Staff was very nice and helpful. Our room was pleasant and clean. Nice bathroom. Great buffet breakfast included. Would return in a heartbeat!

This is our second trip travelling through Italy by car for extended periods, so we have experience with Italian hotels. The Hotel Virgilio in Orvieto has been one of the nicest stopovers we have had. Our room was spotless and very pleasant and quiet, and we were on the first floor so I had anticipated some noise, but there was... More

Nice location, very clean, very kind service staff, but the hotel had the tiniest room I've ever seen, an even tinier shower stall, a bed that was not the promised "letto matrimoniale, and guest and hotel noise were an ever-present problem. For close to $100, I think that a three-star hotel should do a lot better overall.

We stayed 2 nights. It is located facing the left side of the Duomo. The hotel looks very nice when you come in but upon closer inspection, or a longer stay, it falls short of expectations for a hotel of this price range. We had a room with a view to the Duomo, but the rooms and the bathrooms are... More
