I will preface this review by saying, we take full responsibility for the room booking. We booked economy. When seeing the room it was very tiny for two adults. We couldn't walk by each other without the other getting out of the way. Tried to upgrade, but superiors were sold out. The female receptionist was very nice and offered to...

Thank you for your review. the council the next time to stay away from the Hotel Virgilio. The customer should be informed about what book and if you want to save money, can not have the same comforts of who pays for and spends more. as I read its superficial review my eyes noticed the difference with the other previous...

This is a tiny (only 13 rooms altogether) hotel, right on the main square, looking straight at the cathedral. It has recently been remodeled, and it makes great use of every inch of space. In what would normally just be the lobby, they have also included a tiny bar area, an elevator, and winding stairs. The rooms are well-laid out...

If you are in Orvieto to see the old town, you could not find a better location. 50-100m from the cathedral, with restaurants and other must-sees in walking distance. At least in the very end of June, it was easy to find parking just opposite the duomo, if not you could park downhill and take the furnicular and a shuttle...

From the warm reception we received from the desk clerk, Ilaria, to the very comfortable room with windows overlooking the Duomo, you could not have a better stopping off spot in Orvieto. Orvieto like many of the hill top towns is best visited early or late to avoid the day trip crowds.

We stayed in this hotel at the end of our driving holiday before embarking on our cruise. What a wonderful location on the town square with the magnificent cathedral right in front of you. Car parking is in a small area off the square and costs about 10€ overnight. The staff were very friendly, efficient and courteous and you couldn't...

This is the perfect spot to spend a night or two to get a real feel for Orvieto. It looks out onto the Piazza Duomo, has nearby public parking, is quiet even during the passeggiata hours, and the staff is super pleasant. What more could one want. Our room (24) had a gorgeous view of the piazza and the duomo....

I remembered this hotel from a previous family trip over 20 years ago. This time I was traveling alone and decided to choose again Hotel VIrgilio for a 3 nights stay to visit not just the beautiful Orvierto, but my father's birthplace Montefiascone and the incredible Civitá di Bagnoregio (not to be missed!!). My single room Anchise was just perfect...

The staff here is very pleasant, hotel is clean, ideally located, breakfast included, shopping and restaurants in walking distance. Only drawback is hearing the church bells often and if room in back can really hear people sounds from outside.

We stayed 2 nights, very quiet. Location by Duomo was great, although nothing is very far in this town!! Room and bathroom small but clean. Staff was extremely helpful in answering questions and arranging transportation. We found this a great place to stay in Orvieto. Breakfast was probably our only letdown, it was just average.
