We were quite negatively surprised about our stay here. The hotel looks like it has seen better days and is by no means a 4 star hotel, even looking at similar ranked ones on monte argentario it seems odd. The room was nice although the mosquitos and spider webs haven't ever been brushed away it seemed. the bathroom doesn't have a...

Very nice hotel with elegant premises, a tranquil atmosphere, very nicely decorated rooms, a very good breakfast, and a young & friendly staff who spoke excellent English. The bed was of the typical Italian hard type. The location is right in the centre, about 100 meters from the main square of this quaint little town.

Stayed here one night on our Italy road trip. Staff were very friendly and hotel standards were good. Location of the hotel is very good, close enough to walk straight into the buzz area but far enough for a good night's sleep. Breakfast in a beautiful patio and normal Italy standards.

I checked in here for one night, having stayed here about 2 years ago and on that trip, then really liked the hotel. This trip was a severe disappointment. While the staff really tried to work with me to find a room where the air conditioning was strong, the hotel has inadequate air conditioning. My room never cooled below 25C/77F....

Had not planned to stay in Orbetello, but events dictated otherwise. Finding the San Biagio was super lucky. What a gem. Quiet, charming, very good breakfast, and, best of all, fantastic staff people who were absolutely the best. Wonderful. Stayed for two nights and was sorry to leave.

We had planned to spend only one night if here but we were so charmed by the entire town and area that we stayed several more. The hotel certainly was a big part of it. This is a delightful boutique hotel in the center downtown. There is adequate parking and you are only a few short steps from the water...

We stayed here for two nights in October mid week. Ortebello was rather sleepy but it is apparently busy at weekends and throughout the summer. The hotel is right in the centre and is old style but refurbished and contemporary without losing any of its classical elegance. The staff are helpful, professional and welcoming. The rooms and bathrooms are all...

Stayed a night during my road trip. The hotel is super easy to find & the gentleman was very helpful to direct me to the parking (almost across the street in the school yard) Very close to the main piazza, has great inner courts, very quite. The room was nice, well equipped. Breakfast selection was huge & coffee very good....

My husband and I spent one night in this beautifully restored hotel. The staff were efficient and kind. Our check-in was prompt. The room was well decorated keeping the history of the town. The bedroom was spacious and the bathroom boasted a large bath. There is no parking outside the hotel but a disc is given for free parking nearby....

I spent 2 very pleasant days with my family in this Hotel in the heart of the Old town of Orbetello. The place has two internal courts for breakfast and restaurant. Outside it is very elegant but sober at the same time as you would expect from a Hotel de Charme. Food was very good quality. Plenty of choice for...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
San Biagio Relais is in Orbetello’s historic centre, set in an aristocratic building perfectly renovated. It offers 41 elegant rooms and suites, some with fresco-ed ceilings, decorated with antique furniture or in a modern style. All bathrooms are in fine marble, fully equipped with bathtub and/or shower. The charming courtyard is perfect for an outdoor breakfast or a drink. Orbetello is situated in the centre of a splendid lagoon linked to the Tyrrhenian Sea in the Maremma region of Tuscany. Close by are the ecological havens like the Maremma Natural Park, the wetlands of the WWF Bird sanctuaries, the Argentario promontory and the two strips of accumulated sand called the tombola that enclose the lagoon of Orbetello and open out onto the sea with their beautiful long sandy beaches (Feniglia and Giannella) In Orbetello, the little piazzas and the quiet lanes with their bars and restaurants come to life in the evening, mainly during the summer. The unique wealth of landscapes is all within cycling distance from Orbetello: an ideal place for those who enjoy open-air sports like swimming, windsurfing, diving, canoeing, sailing, horse riding, running, golfing and of course cycling. There are many boats and ferries to the islands of Giglio and Giannutri. Nearby are the other islands of the archipelago and the coastline of the Maremma National Park, an area with a sea mammal sanctuary that has been established as a Marine Nature Reserve and is a true paradise for lovers of the sea.The surrounding area also offers an extraordinary combination of Italian archeology, art and history with various Etruscan necropolises (distance from Orbetello: Saturnia 55 km, a very well known thermal location; Pitigliano 59 km, picturesque little village of Maremma located on a spur of tufa, falling sheer to green valleys on three sides and it is worth reminding that Pitigliano has become popular as "Little Jerusalem" in Maremma, for the Jewish community living there since the 16th century, whose traces are still visible in the Sinagogue and many other historical buildings; Tarquinia 55 km, a famous Etruscan site; Vulci 55 km; Sorano 24 km, a picturesque medieval village; Sovana 58 km) and museums, Roman archeological sites and medieval and renaissance towns (distance from Orbetello: Viterbo 90 km, Orvieto 100 km, Siena 115 km) and to taste the tuscan wine Morellino of Scansano, we suggest you a visit to the hilltop village of Scansano (about 40 km from Orbetello)Don’t miss to visit the Tarot Garden in Capalbio (about 20 km far away. It is the esoteric sculpture garden created by the artist Niki de Saint Phalle), and to go for a stroll to Porto Ercole (5 km far away) and Porto Santo Stefano (11 km far away) ... more   less
