We stayed at La Terra only for one night but wished we could stay longer (will return). We visited as a family of four, and our two boys (10 and 8 years old) immediately fell in love with dogs and cats--all animals at La Terra look so happy and well cared and loved (there are chickens, ducks and rabbits). The host couple, Ilaria and Pierpaolo, were so kind and warm. The home cooked dinner was excellent, and served at an open terrace with an impeccable view of Tuscan hills with vineyards. The pool was also another highlight for us. Immense thanks to the host and we look forward to coming back!
My husband and I stayed there a few years away. The owners were super friendly and entertaining. My husband took part in a bit much in the festivities, they had a basil liquor that was out of this world. When we walked in the smell of rabbit stew was wafting through the air and equally as delicious. We will most certainly stay there when we can again.
It's almost hard to find words to sum up the special experience that our family had with Ilaria and Pierpaolo at La Terra! Our family of 4 (my husband and I plus our two boys ages 13 & 8) stayed 6 nights at La Terra as part of our 4 week holiday in Italy. And it was the #1 highlight for each of us. The accommodation is wonderful and cannot be faulted. The home and gardens and space for the kids to run and play is wonderful (they especially liked playing with the dogs)! The sunsets and views are spectacular. The food experience was amazing... true homestyle meals, quality local ingredients, and family dining with the other guests and hosts which creates a memorable experience that will last forever. My husband and oldest son did the cooking class with Pierpaolo and it was fabulous... they still talk about it! Ilaria and Pierpaolo are the most caring and thoughtful hosts and their care and generosity can be felt in every little thing. I required gluten free food for my coeliac (celiac) disease and Pierpaolo was accommodating and made my culinary experience one that I will savour forever! Grazie Mille Pierpaolo. It is located in a perfect spot... we were no more than 1 hour away from all of the sites and areas that we wanted to see in Tuscany and Umbria. If you are looking for an unforgettable, comfortable, family-friendly, love-filled experience that connects you with the land and people and spirit of Italy, then you must stay at La Terra. Thank you Ilaria and Pierpaolo for sharing your joy and gifts with the world, we are so grateful to have met you and shared a bit of La Terra! xx…
One of our favorite things about Italy is the vast differences between big cities, tropical coasts and Italian country side. Agriturismo La Terra's hosts, lodging, and good homemade meals made the Tuscan country side perfect for our stay. We stayed busy during the day visiting Cortona and Montepulciano and then the evenings were spent with the other guests and hosts in small restaurant type setting where everything was prepared for us by our hosts. Wine and traditional after dinner drinks were included with all meals. Beautiful surroundings, quiet setting... even had some young kittens to play with. A wonderful stay.
Last month my husband and I spent 3 weeks in Europe--we loved every place we went but our favorite was Agriturismo La Terra. The setting is beautiful, overlooking vineyards and Tuscan hills. We stayed in a very comfortable and usable one bedroom with a living area. What made the stay really special were the hosts--Ilaria and Paolo. They were gracious, friendly and helpful. Ilaria lent us maps and a tour book and talked with us about options for day trips nearby. They set up a winery tour for us at Avignonesi Winery and told us about Cugusi Cheese where we had a wonderful choose-your-own-cheese picnic complete with wine, bread and local meats. Ilaria directed us to the non-touristy market in nearby Camucia. Breakfasts included yogurt, bread and jams, coffee cake, fresh fruit, "biscuits", and eggs. Most nights Paolo offers a wonderful and filling dinner--pace yourself. The focus is on traditional Italian food and included wine, appetizers, pasta or soup, a main and side (chicken thighs sauteed in wine one night, stuffed pork loin another) and dessert. The homemade bread accompanied by their olive oil was the best we had on the trip. As several other reviews have said, the food is incredible and plentiful. Since dinner is served family style, we loved the chance to talk with them and the other guests as we ate our leisurely dinners. Paolo was happy to talk about how the food was prepared and I came home with many ideas. We would love to go back!…
